A few photos of some FIW French Marines, comparing different makes of figures.

Very nice, thanks for sharing – shows Blue Moon is not out of scale as some thing. They are very nice figures. And I'm going to have to check in to Matchlock's range for this period. Another Finished period reopened.

You have any experience with Warrior (Gallia) figures for this era?

I should note that we do have wagons coming out shortly for the FIW and AWI period.

Dang it! Why did you do that? Now I have no excuse not to add more stuff to my never ending F&I collection. It was bad enough I added the buildings, but I resisted the figures. Only just…and now next to Essex and Matchlock I am busted. Or should I say my Historicon wallet will be.

I have been tempted to sell all my 25mm FIW figs and buy the new Blue Moon range. Still thinking about it.

Thanks,

John

There are some stunning 25's out there, but the cost nowadays is silly, 15mm's the way to go……..in my honest opinion!!

Interesting stuff- I had been lead to believe the BM figures were rather large. Does anyone kow if their AWI figures are the same size as these FIW ones?

historygamer26 May 2011 7:24 p.m. PST

They seemed to be when I looked at them at cold wars. I bought a bunch of them and they scale fine with most lines except perhaps the smaller fifteens.

They're definitely on the larger size. Being fair, they are not compatible with Peter Pig really.

I checked Matchlock and didn't find a suitable range for French and Indian Wars – am I missing something or is this a defunct range?

Your probably looking at the old site, they're now sold on the Minifigs website here's a link to the new one:

Cheers Historygamer and flashma14, I'm looking for larger size guys to flesh out my Lancs' figures (about the same as the Old Glory big hat lads.)

@ MarkRyan – I feel your pain mate!

Thanks again Ray.

Thanks, yarr68.

Anyone familiar with the Warrior/Gallia figures for this era and especially some pics?

MarkRyan28 May 2011 5:03 a.m. PST

No luck there. They are probably the only 15mm FIW I don't have in my collection. I say probably because I have some unknown ones. Being the forever FIW gamer, I would like to see some pictures, too.

yarr6828 May 2011 10:17 a.m. PST

I've got some unpainted Warrior/Gallia figures, I'll try and get some pics onto the blog, if I can ever log myself back onto the damn thing, that is!!!!!
They're not the best figures out there, by a long shot, I do like the mounted Courier Du Bois though. Might just add a little to a game, I wouldn't use there horses though, Essex horses fit the riders well enough, so I'd use them. I bought them at a show from Frontline Wargames, although I couldn't find a link to them on there website, which is: frontlinewargaming.co.uk

I feel a little bad resurrecting this thread from the dead, but has anyone had a chance to photograph some Gallia yet?

yarr6819 Dec 2013 11:29 a.m. PST

Oops? Seems I forgot all about photographing them, I'll try and get a few pics up over the Christmas break!

Inventedregiment19 Dec 2013 1:48 p.m. PST

That'd be great, I've been eyeing them up recently !

Below the comparison photos there is a Matchlock figure that is probably Capt. Beaujeu. As most of the Marine officers were Canadien the ones that fought with the indians usually dressed in a mixture of military.civilian, and indian clothing. There seems to be a lack of figures dressed this way.Does anybody know of any figures in 28mm dressed in this manner.
