I've started down the road to perdition! I'm building a 54mm AWI collection after 25+ years of collecting and wargaming. I'm using All the King's Men miniatures. Super figs! link Anyway
enjoy

Hi Steve, Very nice – where did you get the buildings and walls? I presume you are working on the British side now? ATKM has a lot of really nice troops for AWI, with a lot of sets able to be painted for either side. The ATKM rules are really fun to play as well, which you probably already know. Have fun. Excellent. I play a lot of games using 54mm. It is such a fun scale. |

This is a scale I am seriously contemplating. Mini Geek: what periods do you game? Are your minis plastic, metal, or a combo? Terrain buildings and cost an issue? |

We game Napoleonics, AWI, and ACW mainly. The figures used are plastic from companies like Armies in Plastic and Marx and are actually very reasonable in cost. Games tend to be skirmish scale with 20 – 30 figures per side. For terrain, we use mostly trees and hills with 2 to 3 buildings on the table. The buildings cost $50ish but could be scratch built as well. Check out the 54mm section on my blog for after action reports and photos. miniaturewargaminggeek.com |

Thanks for posting these, Steve! Awesome work! I really like the campaign look of your figures, especially the shading on their small clothes. For anyone interested, all our ranges -- AWI, 1812 and Napoleonics -- can be seen here. link Ken Cliffe ATKM |

^^^Ken sells a number of painted buildings at a reasonable price. I picked up a bunch of buildings and terrain at Nashcon last year and am very pleased with my purchase. |

Thanks for the compliments all! The houses were custom built by a good friend of mine for my 28mm ECW collection. The pub has it's own name sign! The pics were taken in my game house on our "rancho non-deluxe" in Red Oak, near Dallas, Tejas. I can put on a game up to 24'x6' and accommodate up to 12+ people. I'm blessed to have a cool place to game and run to (hide out) when the spouse is on the warpath. It's adjacent to the pool, cabana/bar, and spa. I'm a teacher so my stay-cations really do revolve around gaming, drinking and being a fat lazy b@StA)d! Steve Miller DFW Irregulars |
