This scale layout is simply terrific! Atlanta during the Civil War, a rural hospital camp, and Big Shanty (where the Andrews Raiders stole the General, triggering the Great Locomotive Chase).

We wargamers should take note of this visually stunning example of a Civil War town and countryside. Well done!

Wow that is nice, that is a huge layout and very detailed.

Fascinating. Great link, thanks.

Bizarrely, to my mind, Rod Stewart (the rock music entertainer) has a similar scale model railway layout representing Kings Cross Railway Station, London, circa 1950.

I echo Mr. Mingus' comments – the materials are out there for fanastic looking games – it's just a matter of making use of it, and taking the time to do so. Not all of these techniques cost that much money!

I love the background paintings, but I'm not sure those would be practical for a wargame.

Wow. He did a great job. I liked the canvas covered platform where the injured waited to be placed onto trains.

However, where are all the flames and burned out buildings? <hehe>

There is so much passion and time gone into this project. Truely amazing.

Well worth a reminder.

Lovely layout. Interesting about Rod Stewart. Neil Young is a model railroader ,too.

Does he have to keep a look out for HO scale Yankees trying to burn it down?
