All this love for Star Wars and all we have is some crappy plastic prepainted figures or some twenty year old minis that were mediocre back then.

Hey, at least Star Wars has had "crappy plastic prepainted figures or some twenty year old minis that were mediocre back then".

I'm still waiting for crappy plastic prepainted Star Trek figures – even Heroclix are only doing half a dozen figs.

Perhaps because Star Trek is pretty crappy to play as a non starship game? we beam down to the planet, a few redshirts get killed, we win in the end?

Dunno about that, DS9 had plenty of planetside fights. All versions of Trek had boarding actions.

Given the chance – I'm sure us wargamers could make use of some figures???
