Dreamblade Repainted

Hundvig Fezian is not a real big fan of pre-painted minis, and he positively despises randomly-packed "collectable" ones - so why is he writing this article?

You did a great job. Are those 1/72 scale?

Nice looking figures. Make sure none of them has a Facebook page, though.

Kewl, but who are they gonna fight? What rules do you use???

Pauls Bods25 Apr 2011 8:12 a.m. PST

Thanks :-D
@ Uel…these are part of my "quest" to paint every pose, of every fig set Airfix ever made. I will converty a few and make them into BUF guardsmen.
If and when I wargame, then Impetus.

Lovely paint job – it really does wonders for this ancient set. Do you have any of the marching guardsmen as well? I may have a few buried away somewhere, although I'm not sure I could paint them – my recollection is that there was a fair bit of excess plastic between the rifle and the head. Once upon a time they must have formed the basis for conversions to just about everything ….

Thanks colkitto.
The marching guards (colour party) are here

There is a bit of extra plastic between head and rifle (neck area), but in the linked pic I have been lucky and the background makes it seem as if there is no extra plastic.

Marvellous!

(I see now that I could probably have found that if I had looked a bit harder … )

does that mean you will paint the "Tarzan" set also, as part of your quest?

Pauls Bods17 May 2011 6:53 a.m. PST

@ green beanie…yes, every pose…:-D

Are you pinting all airfix originals – or dom you use reissues like those from HaT ? (Who have the tarzan set IIRC)

Which reminds me – someone somewhere must have dozens of Tarzans – I remember the jungle set being raided to provide Nubians, Numidians and Zulus ! All those unwanted lords of the jungle ! grin

Pauls Bods26 May 2011 4:26 a.m. PST

I am using nothing but originals…from my own collection or where ever I can find them, friends, trade fairs, the last course being VERY expensive sometimes…so far I am missing only 2 figs, strangely enough one from the Tarzan set..the one rowing the boat.:-D
