Lots of talk about 15mm SF figures and gaming these days. We've seen the best "Aliens" Poll (twice!), so who are your favorite SF human figures in 15mm?

Luckyjoe16 Apr 2011 6:22 a.m. PST

For me it's a toss-up between Rebel Minis Titans and Khurasan's Sepulvedan Resistance Fighters.

clkeagle16 Apr 2011 6:27 a.m. PST

While the order changes on any given day, my top three are:

-Critical Mass ARC Fleet (Recon and Augments).
-GZG NAC
-Micropanzer SAS

Though I find myself playing with my Rebel Titan Marines more than anything else, simply because the paint job for an entire platoon was quick to apply. :) And if Blue Moon expands their lines at all, this list may change a bit.

very nice, jake….i always thought the rpg was the weakest link

Scorpio16 Apr 2011 7:02 a.m. PST

I predict we will get the same answers as the 'Top Five Makers of SF in 15mm' that just completed.

TMP link

GZG, Khurasan, and Rebel will be on top, everything else as also-rans.

(CPT Jake, I confess those are some elegant figs you got there.)

nvdoyle16 Apr 2011 7:24 a.m. PST

Jake…where did the 15mm Ogre MkIII come from?

The G Dog Fezian16 Apr 2011 7:29 a.m. PST

I use the same figs as Jake. (I suspect mine are just as old too!)

and (to echo nvdoyle) HOLY CRAP – WHERE did you find a 15mm OGRE???

ThorLongus16 Apr 2011 7:58 a.m. PST

Right now I really like khurasans control battalion, and rebel Titan marines

SonofThor16 Apr 2011 9:39 a.m. PST

Titan Marines by Rebel minis!

the trojan bunny16 Apr 2011 9:51 a.m. PST

GZG NAC are probably my favourite line, but then I am an Aliens fanboy…

CPT Jake16 Apr 2011 10:09 a.m. PST

The OGRE (his name is MARS) is a kit someone produced a few years ago. I managed to get the last couple and have since sold off the other. He is a beast!

Khurasan's Sepulvedan Resistance Fighters, GZG NAC,Titan Marines by Rebel minis. Hard to say which I like most…

Martian Root Canal16 Apr 2011 1:25 p.m. PST

LOVE the Khurasan Federals. Followed by the UNSC gfrom GZG.

doug redshirt16 Apr 2011 1:48 p.m. PST

Khurasans Feds and the control battalion. Also Rebel Titan marines. I would say GZG, but I have not ordered any yet.

SgtPain16 Apr 2011 2:55 p.m. PST

My favorite line is Terran Federal Army from Khurasan.

Joep12316 Apr 2011 5:28 p.m. PST

My current three favorites are;
Khurasan Control Battalion
Rebel Minis Titan Marines
GZG UNSC.

Dragon Gunner16 Apr 2011 5:52 p.m. PST

Khurasan Federal Army and Corporate Marines, I am painting them all the same and mixing and matching them in the same unit.

Second place Khurasan Control Battalion.

Third place is Rebel Miniatures Titan Marines.

I have high hopes for Novarisk Republic from Khurasan.

I am collecting all the available human troops form every source and painting them in a variety of camo patterns to use as PMCs for multiplayer games.

Dragon Gunner16 Apr 2011 5:56 p.m. PST

GZG NAC should get an honorable mention I don't have any yet.

Mako1116 Apr 2011 5:59 p.m. PST

GZG's UNSC Hardsuits, followed by their UNSC Lights, and NAC. Their light and heavy Vacc Suits are up there too, but I'd like to see more poses of them produced.

Rebel's Earth Force Marines are very nice as well, so come in close too.

RAFM's Astronauts with Weapons (not sure what they are really called), are up there with the others also.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP16 Apr 2011 11:11 p.m. PST

For me,

GZG's new NAC & New Israeli sculpts,
and Khurasan's Federal Troopers.

JRacel16 Apr 2011 11:12 p.m. PST

Khurasan Federal Army
Rebel Miniatures Titan Marines
Federal Marine Special Assault Brigade in Power Armour
Rebel Miniatures Earth Force Marines

I have GZG NAC, NI, and UNSC, they are all very nice, I particulary like the NAC, Khurasans control troops look good as well, the pictures of Eurekas German sci fi look very promising, and I will be buying both these.

I forgot these. REALLY like these!

"UNSC Light Infantry"

New ones coming out too!
(re-posted from GZG site):

"Now, the very GOOD news is that there are some NEW RELEASES! Now that they are finally done I can give you some hints as to what they are – I didn't want to mention specifics before in case some things didn't mould properly and had to be delayed.
So, at the show we will have stocks of all the following:

1) THREE NEW PACKS of UNSC-LIGHT troops – a Command/Comms pack, a pack of prone riflemen and GMS/P operators, and a support weapons pack with GMS/L teams and Gauss HAMR teams! I know a lot of you have been waiting for these for ages, and I'm very happy that they are finally available.
2) The HOVER TRUCK that we previewed a while ago, available in open pickup or closed van versions – great as a civilian or military vehicle, and the open version can take any of our standard weapon mount fitments (as used on the Bulldog trucks).
3) A new MEDIUM HOVER TANK, using the Rommel hull but with an all-new manned turret in place of the Rommel's remote cannon mount. A slightly more "conventional" tank type than the Rommel, and a little larger than the old V15-15A, this should be a good addition to any hover-mobility force. Supplied complete with commander figure and three gun barrel options.
4) A new variant of our popular 8-wheel AFV family, this time as a rocket artillery support vehicle with a 6-round MRL box on the rear deck; the same MRL unit is also available as a GROUNDMOUNT version.
5) In the same "family" of vehicles as the 8-wheelers, we have a cut -down version as a 6-wheel light AFV type – very useful for recon and scout roles – available now in light APC and MICV versions, with several more variants to come!
6)…and finally, after a VERY long wait necessitated by several stages of redesign work to get it just how I wanted it, we have THE CRUSTY MECHA! Some heavy support for those loveable (and popular) little crustaceans, this impressive unit stands about 60mm tall – you're going to need a bigger bottle of cocktail sauce.."

GZG UNSC light infantry

darthfozzywig17 Apr 2011 9:15 p.m. PST

1) THREE NEW PACKS of UNSC-LIGHT troops

3) A new MEDIUM HOVER TANK, using the Rommel hull but with an all-new manned turret

Between these and the new NF Russian tanks from Khurusan, my credit card is screwed.

In my VERY brief flirtation with 15mm SciFi, I picked up a couple of sets of Ral Partha's "Galactic Grenadiers" and "Something Soace-ish Troopers" boxed sets.
I think the Powered Armor suits in those sets were – and still are – the best 15mm SciFi gigs ever produced for clean lines and exquisit detail. Animation left something to be desired, but one hardly noticed given the jewel-like quality of the figs themselves.

Like the old Asgard space marines with rocket packs.
