Which ruleset best handles the sort of combat you might see in a "kung fu" movie? |

I think you might have to go the RPG route. Maybe Wire Fu link |

Try and find the old White Wolf Street Fighter RPG. Otherwise theres Palladiums Ninjas and Superspies. Its and RPG as well but you might be able to turn into a miniature system. I see it for cheap all the time at Half Price Books. Chuck |

We still use the card game Kung Fu Fighting. As most combat is situational and tends to be on a 2'x2' board, we don't worry about how far you can move. Sometimes the consensus may be that a player would have to give up an attack that round if they truly wanted to travel "that far" and does not have a running or flying card to modify the attack. It gives a loose, fast and furious game with lots of trash talking and FUN. Not sure if I would play it at a convention though as the lack of rules won't appeal to the rules lawyer or the competitive gamer. Try it, it works and is always fun. So far. Besides, if it does not work out, you still have a great card game in your collection. |

In the RPG realm, I love Feng Shui for all the crazy shticks. Hong Kong Action Theater is a runner up. Haven't found a miniatures game that captures this feel. If you want hardcore martial arts, I have no idea then. |

I second the Kung Fu Fighting card game although I have never tried to use it with miniatures, we tend to mix it with beer instead! I'm interest to read these answers as I doubt a miniatures game can really capture the feel as well as this card game. Jason Stafford, VA |

I went to school with the guys who made Kung Fu Fighting. They are great people. |

The only minis game that I know of is Infinity, with all the special characteristics like Super-Jump, Climb Plus, 5 levels of Martial Arts skill, plus iKohl and Natural Born Warrior rules. If you can get to CC in Infinity, you will mess someone up. The only problem is getting there! |

I hear GURPS Martial Arts is pretty good. Of course, it requires that you first be able to make sense of GURPS

If you're talking mystical style kung fu then I'd say Power Warriors but then I'm biased. ;) -Ken Radioactive Press |
