I live near Washington DC (in the US), I placed an order for miniatures from a Spanish miniatures company on March 14, the miniatures were shipped on the 24th, according to the Spanish Postal site, the most recent package tracking was on March 25, "Dispatch from the point of origin international office". I am assuming this means that the package left Spain on the 25th? How long do packages typically take to arrive in the US from Spain? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

That notice means the packet has left Spain and is either enroute or sitting in US immigration/customs. From here to US is generally less than 4 days for express or certificated airmail.
All updates to tracking after this message will be seen first on USPS site. (often you will receive the packet before the Spanish Post website is updated.

Spanish post is totally reliable if somewhat slow (especially deliveries outside of major urban centres…our village gets 2 deliveries per week, if there is sufficient mail to justify the petrol cost of the delivery persons car. If not we wait). The number of public, religious and local holidays does not help matters either.

Hi,

The problem is probably in the USA not Spain because of the rules that came in at the beginning of the year about mail not travelling on passenger planes in the USA, airmail did take 4-7 days from the UK to the USA, some of it still does, some takes up to 10 weeks as it gets sent the "surface" route even though airmail has been paid for. If it has left Spain then it really will be the luck of the draw in how long it takes to get there!

I can underscore what Black Cat has stated and add that further warnings were noted as early as of November 2010. Due to increased security, packages that could not travel by air, with destinations to the US, would be shipped by sea.

Cheers,

I ordered from Spain on March 3rd, package was shipped out March 11th…still hasn't arrived (I'm in Indiana, USA). Various shipments from the UK, Italy, Hong Kong and Australia were all sent after March 3rd and arrived weeks ago. Main difference, and what I suspect, in conjunction with what others have stated, is the problem, is that the package from Spain is larger and thus more greatly effected by the new regulations.

Looks like the Royalist Spanish forces won't be getting their reinforcements for the abttle of Maipo anytime soon…thanks gentleman.

I'll confirm what timurilank said; our Foundry order of two flat white boxes went via sea. The order took almost 45 days to arrive. Normally this would have taken a week.
Good Luck!

Packages over 450 grams sent from Spain get the delay…Perhaps as much as two months. Now, the post office requires the use of Express Post for packages over the 450 gram limit. More expensive, but fast(er).

All I know is that I ordered about 5 packs of 15mm infantry ($17 in figures), paid $17 USD for shipping and am still waiting. The Spanish company has been very responsive, but I learned a lessona dn will order from US stockists even if they are out of stock.
