Having recently seen some of the offerings available in recent polls I wondered if anyone who posts utter drivel in response to articles or reviews would care to comment? Would even the owner of this site be willing to have a poll which may show up the downside of his "editorial" decisions or will he just be content to continue posting other people's poorly written articles in some sort of sad attempt to garner a headline? I know what my guess is. |

Slow day? Nothing to do but be rude and insulting? |

Well, we are not allowed to ask you to leave, but I CAN ask why you have stayed so long. Do what you want. I won't miss you. |

Hey, a stalwart community member like "Paul Mc" deserves to be heard. The man has got six posts in four years under his belt. OK, and one stifle, but that number will surely change. |

Hey Paul: ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Some commas for you there, since your keyboard seems to be out of them. Judicious application will render your sentences coherent. (edited to prevent commas from breaking the internet!)

Not that this applies in this case but there is a saying around here: "Don't let the screen door hit ya where the good Lord split ya." Does anyone have a source on this? I want to think Bernadotte's memoirs but I could be mistaken. |
Syrinx0 | 05 Apr 2011 7:39 p.m. PST |
Too many paint & glue fumes perhaps? Not like the polls have ever been all that important or serious. |
John the OFM | 05 Apr 2011 7:41 p.m. PST |
Waco Joe, I believe that was in Thomas Aquinas' correspondence with Erasmus. Doctor Johnson also told Boswell much the same thing, and Voltaire was quoted as quipping to Frederick the Great in much the same way. |
JRacel | 05 Apr 2011 8:14 p.m. PST |
Wow, 6 posts since 2007 and 5 stifles. That is an impressive accomplishment. No idea what the OP was talking about, but it clearly did not look constructive. Jeff |

Have a feeling it is about the Republic to Empire poll. Seems that the wording on the poll has ed off some of the Republic to Empire fans. Not sure why, if I was them I would see it as an opportunity to raise the awareness about the rules. But I might be wrong! William |
Sundance | 05 Apr 2011 8:19 p.m. PST |
If he wants to raise awareness about rules, he's going about it the wrong way! ;oP |

You're confused? I'm at sea over this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thank you gentlemen for confirming everything already suspected about this site. I hope you all have a handkerchief nearby to wipe up the foam from your mouths. I have rarely, if ever seen, one member here that has the slightest ability to debate ANY topic like a rational human being. |

Connard Sage wishes it to be known that the OP is not a CS alias, regardless of the uncanny similarity. He's not a relative as far as I know either, because don't run in our family
they catch the bus
'E's from Scotland – I never knew Paul McCartney was a wargamer! Paul McCartney ain't from Scotland, he's from Liverpool. And his parents were of Irish stock. The nearest Macca got to being Sottish was buying a house there and writing an execrable song about its location. |
John the OFM | 06 Apr 2011 7:24 a.m. PST |
I hope you all have a handkerchief nearby to wipe up the foam from your mouths. That implies that we are angry with you. No one has demonstrated that. Mostly there has been puzzlement at why you have hung around so long. Thank you gentlemen for confirming everything already suspected about this site. Oh, you're quite welcome. Prejudices confirmed for free, shoes shined are extra, though. I have rarely, if ever seen, one member here that has the slightest ability to debate ANY topic like a rational human being. Starting with yourself. |

Maybe I'm slow, but I don't understand the point of the original posting
. Just blowing off steam? |
Norman D Landings | 06 Apr 2011 8:31 a.m. PST |
Gentlemen, if you will observe the subject's second post; you will note that after only one day in the test chamber, he has grapsed the rudiments of punctuation. Reward earned! YouTube link |

Ah, yes, Connard. I forgot my Beatles history there for a minute. |
Timbo W | 06 Apr 2011 11:10 a.m. PST |
PaulMc please link to some of the posts you consider utter drivel. Without knowing which variety of utter drivel you're referring to, eg. the silly, weird, argumentative or just plain irrelevant, its difficult to agree or disagree with you. |
BundyTime | 06 Apr 2011 11:55 a.m. PST |
Connard, if you don't mind, I'm a bit slow today
. could you please continue with you exemplary exampling? Preferrably along the lines of #3

You're a fan of ladies' shirts too Al? I thought you only sold them their shoes. What would Peg say? :) |

I say have the poll. I think you would be surprised at the results – perhaps we should have the poll votes identified first before we go further. So, let's start with the original post: Having recently seen some of the offerings available in recent polls I wondered if anyone who posts utter drivel in response to articles or reviews would care to comment? Would even the owner of this site be willing to have a poll which may show up the downside of his "editorial" decisions or will he just be content to continue posting other people's poorly written articles in some sort of sad attempt to garner a headline? So the Poll should be something along the lines of: Is TMP a Haven For Laptop Warriors & Sad Website Owners? Proposed Poll Votes: A) Yes, TMP is a haven for Laptop Warriors and sad website owners. B) No, TMP is a website with a keen group of wargamers, painters, and contains posts from very informed individuals across the globe. C) Who the hell is PaulMc and what does he know about TMP if he only posts seven times in 4+ years and 25% of said posts are ing? D) Needs more boobies. E) Needs more punctuation and perhaps a grammar checking before posting. F) PaulMc fails completely to understand what this site is, how it works, and the social networking that TMP engenders across the gaming community. There Mr. PaulMc, how is that for a proposed poll – suitable and to your liking? Now, about the name – PaulMc – is that like a "wannabe Rapper" name – emulating Young MC, or MC Hammer? You might want to put on your parachute pants and start dancing, because you have provided plenty of fodder for those who would gladly see you leave. Besides, your membership is free, no one forces you to log in and read this stuff! Better luck at a poll topic next time! |
Sundance | 06 Apr 2011 12:17 p.m. PST |
Jovian, a problem I could foresee with selection B is that the third part of it – very informed individuals across the globe – only applies to a select few individuals on the Nappy and WWII boards. At least in the opinions of the said select few

David, That's Latin, Doll. It means Mr. Ringo is an educated man. Now I know I hate him. Weaselhoffen. |

I assume as PaulMc is a member of the league of Augsburg forum Barry Hiltons site who is the author of Repbulic to Empire. He is a bit upset that the poll didn't garner more votes on how brillant said rules are. Basically I think he is playing up for his forum buddies link |
