I would use Adler WW2 figures. The figures are a little larger and easier to see. You may be a little younger then me, but at age 47 I can't really see that much of difference between the WW1 and WW2 figures in this scale.

With Irregular's, you can distinguish the characteristic shapes of the Austrian infantry's peaked caps in contrast to the Russian furashkas; the Austrian cavalry's crested helmet in contrast to the Coassack fur cap; etc.

It's surprising how much detail is on them--but you don't see it until they're painted.

Pretty well all my WW1 6mm stuff is Irregular, huge range and very sturdy. As with much Irregular stuff, they look very blobby in the raw lead but paint up surprisingly well. One thing I really like is the variations in individual pieces.

They take an inkwash well.

the only PITA is there is sometimes huge amounts of flash on the bottom of the strip bases, to the extent I've made my fingers bleed getting it off.

Some of the Irregular scenic items are very useful too, especially the shell bursts, craters and 'train sets'. Make your own trenches though….

I'd do 10mm Pendraken, better looking figures by far but still small and affordable.

Yes, the shell bursts are cool.

I did my WWI 6mm with Irregular. They came out really nice. Some of their better 6mm stuff.

Baccus offer complete packs and rules, as well as various terrain items. The range is more limited, specifically focusing on the Western Front. Irregular Miniatures has a much wider range. Heroics and Ros have new ranges of figures, which are bigger and stronger than the earlier WW1 range. Scotia Grendel is the only company that has the French Schneider tank in 6mm. Their other figures are late war Western Front only.
