Any suggestions for painting schemes for e-boats and MTB/MGB's?

My tmp search-fu seems weak :-(

Thanks!

James

Both Osprey and Squadron-Signal have published books on coastal forces.

There is a whole series of books – rather pricey, IIRC – on paint/camo schemes of the RN (could have more than RN, but I think it's restricted to them). Can't remember the name, but it's been suggested to me before, so someone on that side of the pond might happen to think of it for you.

White, or a very white, light grey, sometimes referred to as Schnellbootweiss (Schnellboat White) for the E-Boats. Dark gray decks if in the Channel.

Could be a pea-greenish if in the Mediterranean for the decks.

You can add gray splotches for a few E-Boats, if you like, on their sides, but most would just be the plain, very light gray/white.

Sorry, can't recall the actual colors for the MTB's/MGB's, but really early variants could be a darker gray than later ones, e.g. probably about a medium-dark gray (not as dark as the deck color for the German S-Boats). Later ones were a lighter gray, e.g. about the color of a medium gray.

Some British boats were also painted in more pastel colors, like very pale green, or greenish-blue.

Again, decks on the British boats would be either dark gray, or navy blue.
