I always wanted a set of flat, wooden toy soldiers, similar to the kind Windcatcher Graphics produces, but those are a bit expensive.

Then I found these Meeples soldiers:

Whadaya think? I'm not talking about producing something perfectly painted, but just a kind of a retro-toy soldier look.

Maybe a little too basic

Might as well go to a paper soldier site print some up and stick them to balsa wood – IMO would look better

You can make them out of spools and other wooden craft parts.
