Can anyone give me a picture reference (or text) for US Aircrew parachute canopies in use in the 1960's and 1970s (with vietnam emphasis if posible). I know that the BA-22/BA-24 for example are multi colour but need to know in what order the panels are and their rough dimensions. "U.S. Air Force Pilot BA-22 Parachute – 28 ft., multicolor (tan, orange, white, and O.D.) " I am assuming that the USN chutes are just white and orange alternating panels? New 1/600th markers have arrived from Fight's On and I am itching to "do" some painting after a long layoff. Any help gratefully received Si |

I talked to my Dad, who flew A-1Es and O-1s in Vietnam in 1965-66. He said he remembers white and OD. In fact, he remembers distinctly a white chute when he FAC'ed the rescue of a F-100 pilot (unit was TDY from the States). Mark |

Off topic, but saw a Libyan pilot hanging below a black one on the tellie a day or two ago, just in case someone will be in need of those down the road. |

I flew from 76-84. All of the US Navy chutes that I saw were OD Green, with green cords. Ours were virtually all manufactured during the 60's, FWIW. |
