As it is the clear desire of the Editor to promote the division of TMP into tiny little sub-boards, I think the best way to facilitate that is to eliminate the crossposting feature. Crossposting defeats the point of sub-boards, as posters inevitably crosspost back to a higher-tier board e.g. SF Discussion and 15mm SF Discussion after posting to 15mm SF GZG Discussion (which is bound to come along). Let's get rid of crossposting and make a stop of this silly notion that people might want to read about other people's ideas from different-yet-potentially-interesting games. Vote: - Disable the crossposting feature - Keep the crossposting feature - Eliminate game and scale specific boards to make crossposting useful |

Bad job -- some people evidently think yours was a serious post. Next time include a smiley or another humor flag like ending your message with /sarcasm_off . |

If you disable cross-posting, then you will just have people post the same thing to multiple boards with copy and paste, which IMSHO would be even more annoying than cross-posting! We already see this happen between TMP areas where cross-area, cross-posting is not possible

Keep the crossposting feature: Some items simply apply to more then one board, and not necessarily within the hierarchy. And 15mm is a good example. Something might apply to Sci/Fi 15mm and other 15mm at the same time. |

Why would people want to crosspost? That would imply that a post on the Flames of War board might be of interest or relevance to people interested in WWII or, heaven forbid, wargaming in general. Clearly that would be crazy. Disabling crossposting is the logical accompaniment to the proliferation of game- and scale-specific boards. |

No if there is no cross posting some individuals will manually post the same message to several boards flooding the place with duplicate messages. With cross posting most of the time you only see the one. ML |

Mapleleaf is right. As long as copy/paste works disabling cross-posting is a lost cause. Gracias, Glenn |

Disable it. Yes, people will still do the copy/paste thing, but hopefully they won't be quite as zealous about it if they have to work harder. @ Gray Ghost: There was a poll last year (May, I think) to limit cross-posting to 3 boards. The poll passed, but we're still waiting. |

Disabling crossposting is the logical accompaniment to the proliferation of game- and scale-specific boards. I agree with that. Otherwise, what was the point to people creating all those niche boards of focused interest apart from the more general boards? Is this a case of having cake and eating it too. Regarding copy/paste crossposting- if someone creates separate topics, The Editor could always move or remove the topic from the off topic board as he does now. |

Why does crossposting annoy people? I have never heard a logical reason why. |

Keep the ability – remove the sub-genre boards Though I post to them I really do not understand why we need them – maybe its simpler than a good search engine to implement? |
