This is 95% complete. I need to complete the ladder to the second story and the stadium seating. The floors are removable and the gate door moves. picture picture picture It's ready for Gladiators to fight in it. I just need to order some from Bronze Age Minis. |

Another nice arena! That red stain on the walls will come out with a little soap and water and some elbow grease. :) |

So this is more of an informal Ludus field rather than the usual arena? Nice job. |

I think I caught the arena fever too. This one looks very much like the one seen in the Spartacus tv show. Excellent work!! |

Looks great. Is this 28mm scale? |
Soldat | 02 Mar 2011 3:15 p.m. PST |
Thanks guys, This IS based on the old Capua Arena from Spartacus Blood & Sand / Gods of the Arena. I almost forgot. You probably can't see the supporting poles at the VIP area but I will also be adding curtains like in the show. I am also awaiting the Revised Red Sand Blue Skies rules. @ Nicknacasti I guess it could serve as both. @ WarWizard yes 28-32mm scale. This will do until I can get a playmobil for a good sized arena. |

I am loving all this inspiration for my forthcoming 15mm arena, practice for the 54mm version
. Spartacus on Netflix definitely stokes my fires for some RSBS action. |

Hey Soldat, Curious about info on the old capua arena. Since I doubt yours is for sale (because it looks amazing) I was wondering if you could provide me with measurements, materials needed, supplies needed, steps taken, etc. I REALLY want one of my own as it is my favorite show Thanks! |

The Playmobil one is quite nice and a very good price (especially compared to what gaming companies seem to want to charge for their terrain). It disassembles easily and is very sturdy and can be detailed with paint/accessories with no problem. It's a very good size so it can also be used with chariots and mounted and still allow a lot of manoeuvring area. |

Smallsoldier, I'll take some measurements for you. I based it on what I could see in Spartacus "Gods of the Arena" It was an estimation on what looked right on the scale of 28mm Gladiators. I've finally finished a bunch of older gladiators and have the em4 Ludus Gladiatorus for rules. |
