It's sort of like Cacique Caribe in his early days. And he had his detractors, too.

You guys have got to stop encouraging him.

I swear half the threads on TMP are his links to other guys' stuff.

…Tango's Miniatures Page?

Daffy Doug11 Mar 2011 10:06 a.m. PST

You say that like it's a bad thing – linking to other people's stuff I mean….

ochoin deach11 Mar 2011 1:48 p.m. PST

All things in moderation.

The guy must sit in front of a screen all day, every day searchin' & searchin' for yet another link to parade for our jaded eyes.

This could be a brand-new syndrome for our modern world: cybernarcissum.

I appreciate that he finds other sites I would not normally see. Kind of like a Saint Bernard or Blood Hound

Nah I like his post's--It is pretty obvious he isn't trying to make us think what he is copy and pasting is stuff he has written!

You know when you've been Tangoed!!

No matter how good no individual deserves their own board. Any post by any author can be found by a search

References have been made here and elsewhere that Armand is often is in violation of IP or copyright. That would be difficult to prove But I would suggest that Tango is in violation of the sense of copyright that is followed here on TMP for our own posts.

I quote directly from our Frequent Questions concerning the copying of posts

Copying

I really like such-and-such discussion. Can I copy it to my own website?
No, that would be a violation of copyright. Note that there's a copyright notice on each forum page.
Why?
The copyright notice gives TMP the ability to prevent copying of discussions. Just because someone posted a message at TMP, doesn't mean they want it repeated all over the internet.
But I wrote something profound, and I want to have it at my own website.
If it's your own post you want to copy, ask and we'll automatically give you permission to do so

As you see the policy is clear unless you have permission you cannot copy TMP posts elsewhere. Should we not extend this courtesy to other sites.

Right now Armand has several threads that are either direct copies of messages or visual materials from other sites that do not show any indication that their original author/poster has given permission for its use here In many cases Armand does not even provide any accreditation at all.

Yes sometime his posts are useful and yes I applaud his initiative. As someone who makes money from both research and on line writing I do not like seeing someone's else work copied like this.

If Armand wants to share then he should be restricted to providing his comments and a link to that site In the same way we link to You tube etc. Anything in excess should be deleted.

Mapleleaf@ You are correct. One should always at least say if they are putting out something someone else has produced or even an idea that someone else has said/wrote.
