are UK Postal Rates and now apparently slower delivery times discouraging anyone else from ordering stuff from Britain?

I'm holding off on some orders to see if delivery times will improve (post-Christmas mass mailings/bad winter weather/laspe of memory of bombs, etc.)

I am thinking about not pre-ordering the Perry Zouaves from them for this reason. I figure I probably won't be able to get to them until Cold Wars anyway and can probably pick them up there from someone else who dealt with the hassles.

I've had no problem with small items ordered by themselves(a book, a box of Perry plastic ACW, a DVD). But I've been waiting on a larger order since Dec. 4. My guess would be if it would fit in a mailbox, you might be good?

I have posted some things to the US in the last few weeks and they arrived ok.

The worst of the problems *seem* to be past – delivery times aren't great, but the real epic hold-ups were with stuff posted in the first two weeks of December, when the combination of snow, the usual last posting dates for Christmas, and the initial chaos of new US homeland security rules made for a bit of a perfect storm…. Hopefully things will continue improving, but the situation's certainly a lot better than it was, even if delivery times aren't yet consistently back to normal….

no way, to Australia postal rates are cheaper than from the US, delays are within acceptable limits for me. many of the companies i order from have production in the UK so product is usually cheaper and our exchange rate is so much in our favour its unbelievable.

ive just had a parcel with four novels not gaming related take almost three weeks from the UK so things still seem a little slow but not in the league of stuff still arriving that was posted in december.

I'm still waiting for a package posted on December 15 to me in the US. Yesterday, I just received a package that was sent from China in the last week of November. I don't see why it should take 2 months to get here. I decided to stop placing any new international orders until the mail delays get under control. This is costing foreign hobby suppliers my money.

The post office in the UK is currently warning that the US customs are being bonkersly over-paranoid looking for more explosive printer ink carts and hence all post to the US is taking approximately forever.

I'm in Oz, ordered from UK after Xmas and it arrived just after new year…and postage was free. I find that ordering from UK is the best option for me.

Cheers Andy :-)

My orders sent in mid-December have still to arrive, but from Mid-Jan onwards it seems to be taking a week to the USA, so pretty much back to normal.
