I have got into dystopian wars a naval game. Some guys online are using card islands from man o war. Does any one know where I can buy anything similar for a reasonable price?

Sorry cant think of a game/source offhand for card islands. Litko makes some nice plastic ones.

Scroll through the linked page. There are a number of varieties.

You could also print your own. It shouldnt be too dificult and definitely cheaper. Another option would be to go to eBay and find some Heroscape terrain tiles. There are thin ones which represent swamp, water, and (snow ???)on which you could draw islands.

Gale Force 9 also make some, not in card though they come painted and ready to use: gf9.com/pirates

The Pirates CCG packs are still available. Anybody who started a collection should have extras to give out. Also included in the later packs were fog, sargossa, and whirlpools.

I have a lot that I can dispose of so let me know and we can work something out.

Sorry, can't help with that, but small foam ones custom made by you would probably look better anyway.

Easy to do with a little effort.

Amera sells sets of vac-formed plastic islands. You'd have to paint them up yourself.

As Top Gun Ace said, they're also easy to make from insulation foam, and look fantastic painted up with some mini palm trees.

Get the GW 40k hard-plastic jungle trees set. It's a couple of quid, and instead of building up three or four big palm trees from all the sections of trunk and foliage you get, use the sections to build a couple of dozen teeny tiny ones. Also, this is one set that's definitely easier to paint on the sprue then assemble.

Thanks guys.

I think the Litko and Pirates one are too small.

The Amera ones are perfect as they are actually made for a spartan games, game, and all their games use the same scale so i will probably buy some of them OR just make my own.

I have some Extruded polystyrene and could easily do it, just takes some time.

You could always download Google earth and take screen shots and print them.

Funny, I don't recall the Man o War ones being that big…

Still, the DIY suggestions sound good so far, though at the scale the game plays, I'm not sure even teeny trees are apropos.

I'd probably just cut some buff colored construction paper or felt, and then a slight smaller green version to lay on top.
