I ordered a package of minis (well, about 11 of them…) from a place in Russia back on the 18th of November.

It still has not arrived yet.

I have been in contact with the shipper, and he tells me to be patient, and that the Russian mail service is quite slow.

I am not sure what is going on….

Does it take over a month and a half to get 11 figs to me from Russia?

Or am I being scammed?

It can sometimes take us over a month and a half to get figures to turn up from the UK to the USA or Australia….

International shipments can be very variable at the least. I received one package from Russia-UK within 2 weeks, and another took 2 months. Patience is generally the name of the game. There have also been all sorts of delays due to weather. Good luck.

These things can be variable at the best of times, but that date coincides with the cessation of mail carriage on passenger flights to the USA. They seem to have gotten regular alternatives sorted by mid-December, but there are still parcels somewhere in the system from earlier, having presumably ended up going trans-Atlantic surface and getting held up in customs. (I've at least two orders posted by me (UK to USA) in early December still AWOL, which have been leap-frogged by parcels sent later in the month to the same customers….)

Excerpt from the Royal Mail's bulletin on the issue:

End date: Ongoing

Increased security measures delays some mail to USA

Since November 2010, the United States Department of Homeland Security has increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, mail entering the US from around the world, and including the UK, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including ships and cargo planes.

Can never figure this out. In early December I placed an order with Outpost who are in Scotland. A week later I placed an order with Brigade in the UK. Looking at the Royal Mail posting date on both orders I see they both posted three days after the date I placed the order. The Brigade order arrived at my home (USA) in 2 1/2 weeks. The Outpost order which was postmarked a week earlier took 6 weeks to arrive at my home. I suppose Brigade bribes the Royal mail or the Roayal mail hates Scotland.

Anyway, I find 6 weeks from ordering to reciept to be an expected outcome from the UK. The few times I have ordered from Poland or Russia have had much longer transit times.

I had a DVD sent from a Russian company about 18 months ago (to Australia). Took about three months to get here, but it did so, and in good condition. I have variable experience with stuff from the US – sometimes it will be here within a week of being ordered, other times I'm still waiting three weeks from the date of posting. (as of right now, as it happens). Go figure.
