I got my Christmas sale order of Sons of Thunder link from Rebel Miniatures in the mail today. Fast service and they look like fun. I will post pictures tomorrow compared to my Khurasan Lhurgg for comparison of scale/size. ***** I am planning to sculpt a larger version, keeping it in scale to the others, just a larger 15mm version. ***** I was looking for painted Sons of Thunder
who has painted miniatures of these fine little guys? |

link Bought them recently. Cool figures! No paint yet, sorry. Dan PS. I was thinking of taking a couple of the duplicates and adding little alien astronaut helmet antennae to them . . . just to see how they turn out. Should I make the attempt? link link link link |

I have some, too, and haven't painted mine, either. As they look rather retro, I was wondering about brass/copper helmets and air tanks, and Deep Red/GW Gore Red jump suits – perhaps with a blue or yellow seam stripe on the trousers. How does that sound? |

"PS. I was thinking of taking a couple of the duplicates and adding little alien astronaut helmet antennae to them . . . just to see how they turn out. Should I make the attempt?" Sure Dan, that looks like a fun exercise. ***** Thor, I remember suggesting the Sons of Thunder for your project, and I think they will look great against your existing clan. In hand they look great
tons of detail in a small form, good stuff. ***** I suspected there were some out there but I could not find any pictures of painted ones. For me, being that they are small I was thinking a broken pattern of solid contrasting colors to give an illusion of increased size like the one on the right picture For the colors I have not picked yet, but I may use several primary colors to show unit function
security RED, medical BLUE, etc
and pair this primary with white. |
