Wine from Lesbos, with grated goat cheese and a little honey, stirred by a captive maiden – well, for Chariot Wars games anyway. "Hey, you son of Menoetius! Flip that chine over!" |

Normally we like to experiment with various small-brewery beers, but if I'm running an evening game at home I might sneak in a dram of good single-malt. (Lately I've taken to Laphroig and Lagavulin – love the "peat-monsters"!) |

When playing, it's amber, dark beer, or a hoppy IPA. Unsweetened ice tea or green tea is the preferred non-alcoholic replacement. I usually stick to water when running a game. |

The current tipple of choice when gaming is Doom Bar, which according to the brewer, 'The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.' Whatever all that means. Ezza |
