Hi I am thinking of scratch building a 6mm "Mule Shoe" from Spotsylvania Courthouse..I have worked out that it would be about 6 feet in length(total) and bee about 3 feet accross at its widest…Before I start whittling/sculpting etc would this seem about right?

Also would it be about 1inch high (approx 3cm0 or would it be bigger??

Seems it would kinda depend on your ground scale and figure scale (diorama or wargame terrain?) one inch equals how many feet? 1 6mm casting equals how many 1 to 1 1 to 5??

IF 1:1, then 6mm = c. 5.5 ft. (5'6") or 5.75 ft. (5'8"), depending on how tall you think the average American man was in 1864. (Grant was 5'8".) Of course, a "6mm" figure might actually be taller than 6mm if they're like other scales.

I have worked it that 6mm=6feet (for arguements sake) and so the mule shoe would be true 6mm scale…The bases for my 6mm units are 40mm square so a "Regiment" woould be 80 mm long…however as at this time of the war most CSA 9and Union) Regiments only had about 100-200 men it all gets abit complicated!!
As for the height --Don yes if it was man height then between 6mm-10mm would be about right..But you have to take into account the bases which add quite a bit..
