Are there any cool pics of waterline examples you, or someone you know, have built or converted? I would sure like to see them. By the way, do you think that taking half (top or bottom) of a plastic pen case like this could be a good starting point? picture picture picture Thanks, Dan TMP link TMP link |

Have you seen the photos of the 'submarines' that the Tamil Tigers built in Sri Lanka? Or a bit more up market, the DIY subs the drug cartles are using to smuggle their goods? |

These here? link Those are precisely the kind I'm looking for, but as examples of actual gaming pieces. That's why I think they would have to be homemade/scratch-built tabletop contraptions because, up to now, I haven't seen anything like them sold commercially anywhere. Dan |

Bought a bag of cheep party kazoos at the dollar tree. They're narrow at the front and wider at the back (about 3 inches long) with a round hatch type thingie on the top. With a bit o' work they could be a one man sub in 15mm or one could put two together ? This is why ah buy this random crap. Someone will come along with an idea how to utilise it ! WooHoo ! <chuckle> |

Dan, are you talking big military style subs, or any type of sub, including smaller research style vessels? Soemone on frothers picked up a Dora the Explorer toy sub, which works well as a 2 man research sub in 28mm,it would work just as well as a larger sub of that type in 15mm I'm sure. If not, still worth checking out the toy ranges – especially the toy soldier ranges as the vehicles are never in scale for the soldiers. Easily converted. AS for complete make you own, some of the 'jumbo' pens are a good shape – the type with 4 colours of biro in them that you push a button to select – you must have them or similar over there. |

Great stuff Dan. If the drug lords make their own subs. How long until we get the first drug lords in space. :-) |

Man, CC! You are always pushing that envelope, aren't you?? Another thought: toothbrush travel cases, like these: link link link link Most of those are 8 to 10 inches long and an inch to two inches wide, which would make them good scout or drugrunner subs in 15mm scale. Heck, paint one up with a red-and-blue star on the side and use it as a North Korean infiltration sub! That might be fun to inject into a post-apoc scenario. |

Brilliant ideas! There must be a manufacturer that sells NK flag decals somewhere, I'm sure. Thanks again, Dan |
