When did the Israelies change from silver to camo? I'm looking up the War of Attrition (sp) and I'm seeing images of both camo and siliver Miriages |

Camo went on the Mirages in '69, the identification triangles in '73. link |

Nice link Dom. Thanks for sharing. Were the Israeli jets painted with the orange triangles at the start of the Yom Kippur War, or were they added during, or afterwards? |

During I believe – going from memory here, but I seem to recall the hostile Mirages were a surprise when first encountered in Yom Kippur, so the ID markings were rapidly added to differentiate. |

Hi Dom, Thanks for the quick response. I thought so too, but couldn't really remember. I believe they were on loan (including pilots as well) from either Libya, or Algeria, or both. |

Yeah, Libyan aircraft, so them turning up in Egypt was unexpected. |
