I looked at these some years ago and thought what a pity it was not my scale or period. Some years later and with a few ECW and 28mm TYW armies, what next! Just painted up an ESSEX Swedish Army I remembered Testudo and did a little research which showed that after some problems they were up and running. As a result a big box of metal landed on my doorstep last Saturday, posted in Italy on the Tuesday. And what beautiful little chaps, slightly bigger than other 15mm, they are full of character with plenty of variation without being OTT. I have nearly painted my first Swedish Bde (FOG (R)) and they are looking good, so my Essex chaps will be heading to ebay, wargames table virgins that they are! (Perfectly nice Essex, it is just that I prefer the Testudo!) Anyway good service from our chums in Italy, lets hope that the quality of the figures influences my dice rolls!!! Tally Ho! |

Glad to hear of the great service and that they're back in business! They always were amazingly detailed 15's, I just never got to painting all of mine. I do hope you'll post pictures in the future? ~TWP |

I intend to, but they do take slightly longer to paint than others, shame to do a bog standard paint job on them! Tally Ho! |

As you base them, could you provide an update/feedback on how well they fit on FoG/WRG base sizes? I know they are "bigger" 15mm, but have never been sure HOW much bigger. |

I will be basing them for FOG (R) on 40 x 20mm for Inf and 40 x 30 for Cav Commands. Four shot fit well, 4 pike is a bit of a squeeze, but it can be done, hope to get photos by this weekend, Tally Ho! |

I got the same great service from Testudo, posted last Friday and the figures arrived today in Germany. They will get my next order shortly after my FOG-R rulebook and the armylist arrive. I am really glad that they are back in business and with this kind of good service I will start Swedes, Imperials and Spanish for TYW. |

I had another parcel, posted in Italy on Monday, arrived in the UK yesterday, Wednesday! Tally Ho! |

Glad to see some encouraging posts here and I have sent an order for a 1000pt (FOG)army. I have had a reply saying they may take a few days due to a shortage of horses, I suppose nickinsomerset had them all. I will take my time over painting them as the castings do look to be worth the effort. |

Hi Nick, I am looking at 18mm Testudo Swedes as an option for By Fire and Sword. Do you have a blog with any pictures so I could see what they look like as the basing is on 40mm frontages? Cheers Happy Wanderer |
