Who makes any, and who makes good ones? I am just starting out, and am looking to see what is available. I have 30 years worth of Napoleonics, and am not interested in why I should do 25mm or 28mm or 15mm. 20mm is it for me, just want to know where to go to get figs. Owen |

Newline design has a nice range of 20mm ACW. They have a 20% sale running until the end of August. They also have army deals. newlinedesigns.co.uk |

Don't forget all the plastic one too, like HaT, Airfix, Imex, etc. |

I second Newline. Good army deals. |

Thanks much for the link. Looks like they will have what I need. TKIndred, Imex seems to be the only line of 1.72nd ACW left. Airfix doesnt make them anymore, I cant find Revel, Italeri only makes a few types, and HAT only makes a single box, Zouves. So most of my line troops will be IMEX, and the Zouves will be HAT. After that it looks like I will be getting the rest in metal. I guess that last few years I got spoilt by what is available in 1.72nd Napoleonics. It is more like what it was back when I first starrted Nappys. And I think just about the same ACW stuff was available. I really thought that they would have expanded as well, but I guess 1/72 is just not a popular ACW choice. Owen |

The Newline minis are a bit on the short side compared to 1/72 plastics. Their mounted figures match up pretty nicely though. link I like Jacklex minis for 1/72 even though they are relatively crude compared to today's figures. link |

Owen, I mix Musket Miniatures metal figures with plastics without it being a problem. Check them out. |

Dayton Painting Consortium (DPC) also has a really nice 20mm ACW metal range at great prices! They own the RSM range of figs. I've known them for 20 years. Great guys. dpcltdcom.org/rsm95_002.htm Thanks, John |

Kennington Miniatures, owned by Peter at SHQ, make some very nice ACW 20mm figures, quite a few choices within the range as well. I'm also his US agent
.(had to throw that in there). I also collect 20mm, have Kennington, Newline, Qualitycast (why on earth these are not still in production is beyond me), RSM, Musket, plus the old Frontier Miniatures and Confederals from Der Kriegspieler, both are small 25mm and work well with Kennington, Qualitycast, etc, etc. I've got about 2,000 20mm ACW figues and about 10,000 20mm Napoleonics, Owen is spot on, it's 20mm or nothing for me too

badger22 I have a ton of painted K&L aka Confederals aka Der Kriegspilers metal 20mm figures; Union and Confederate infantry, artillery, and cavalry. They're just gathering dust since I went to 25-28mm several years ago. If you're interested let me know and we can work something out. |

badger22/mosby65 I was under the impression that K&L ACW were actully an incarnation of the very old Thomas HO ACW (small 20mms) line out of OK or Kansas. These are much different than the small 25mm Confederals and much older. If, in fact you have a "ton" of old Thomas/K&Ls, then they are worth something for sure! You see them occasionally on Ebay in small batches, and they get good prices. Best of luck if you decide to try to move out your "dustcatchers" at last! |

docdennis1968 I'M RICH! I'M RICH! Yes, these are the old Thomas 20mm miniatures but it never occured to me they are worth anything special. Guess I'll inventory them and see what I can get for them. Thanks for the info. |
docdennis1968 | 01 Sep 2010 1:10 p.m. PST |
Well maybe rich, rich not RICH RICH If you do Ebay put them on the (Toys and Hobbies) 20mm listing under both ACW and Civil War and list for Thomas and K&L. That should just about cover all bases! |
Double G | 01 Sep 2010 1:45 p.m. PST |
Good to know about the K & L figures as I too have a raftload of them just gathering dust, will now batch them up and try to sell them off of Ebay. Thanks for the tip as the proceeds will go towards more 20mm Napoleonics and ACW, so there you go

Musket Miniatures are good figures, nice detail and a huge variety of poses, artillery pieces, pretty much anything you need. Even hand to hand. They are listed at 22mm, but they are slightly smaller than 1/72, and the same size as other 20mm, such as the RSM figs. Does anyone know of a 20mm Armistead figure? With his hat raised on his sword during Pickett's Charge? There is a 25mm Dixon, but a 20mm one would be nice to do with the above mentioned MM figs. |

Tumbling Dice and Sgt's Mess also do 20mm ACW and the Wodensfeld small line of ACW is now coming back into production. Musket used to also do all sorts of accessories and seperate heads so you could fashion an Armistead with bald head and beard and put a clouch hat on the end of his sword |

Just got my first shipment of Wodensfeld. The Berdan sharpshooters are very nice and I really like the Generals (personailty fig's). Highly reccemmended |

musketminiatures.com – Don't know a lot about these.
They are skinny figs(aka not re-enactor sized) and pretty easy to paint. |

A note for 'Double G' and 'Mosby65'. I am looking for ACW K&L Company, Thomas 20mm figures. Have been for some time. I am looking for information on an active source to get this type, or if you are truly interested in parting with what you have; contact me. |

"Double G" and "Mosby65", I see where 7 (!) yearx ago you were both owning Thomas figures that were "gathering" dust. I was wondering if that is still the case, and , if so, would you consider selling some or all of them and at what price? |
