Very cool stuff. Glad to see you are using models from a variety of lines to play, shows good background thought to your universe.

Nice writeup. I enjoyed it. How do you play this solo? (im not familiar with the rules)

thedrake24 Aug 2010 2:34 p.m. PST

Am acting as both player for both sides,and after playing out the scenario will act as referee to determine effects from the scenario result.It is very free-form,no formal structure,as it is really a series of linked scenarios I am playing during a campaign.Really just a good way to get various of my minis on the table!
The campaign was inspired by the story in old Terran Trade Authority book "Great Space Battles",which is the color scheme of the Capellan ships as seen in one of the spaceship pics in the book.

I also had to get my Star Wars titanium Venator cruiser into action after repainting it.The ship looks very similar to one made by Brigade:

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

@Mark

Did you do use anything that added random actions? I can't play out something like this without betraying bias for one side or the other. ;->=

If I missed this answer in your posts to Star Ranger's site, please forgive.

I'm good at that; I just saw the first few piccies, missed the stripes, and had to go back and look at later images.

Doug,

I am drawing up an RE table currently for using random events starting with the next scenario.I intentionally limited them in the first two scenarios as they were small engagements with set forces,and wanted to show quick raids that the Capellans were conducting.

The mechanic I plan on using to introduce a random event into a game turn is if that side rolls a 6 on its initiative roll AND wins the initiative (both sides rolling 6's means reroll for initiative,no RE triggered yet) then that will trigger the RE;then roll 2d6 to find RE that occurs,with colored die as tens and white die as ones.The table will have 66 possible RE,with groups of RE's broken down into categories such as Forces,Morale,Space Phenomena,Command and Control,etc.So rolling 2d6 and say roll 5 on colored die and 4 on white die yields "54",then consult table to see which RE that is.This is similar to one used in Solitaire Advanced Squad Leader and have ported this to use in my solo Dirtside 2 games as well.

Hope this helps.

Sounds darn interesting, and C&C is probably the most so, as it'll have an effect on how useful that 'bias' is.

If you're still on the mailing list, or the Yahoo! group, I'd be interested in seeing your results either place. Sounds like a bit large of a table to post here.
