After lots of googling I think I've established that Skytrex's 'F' Lighter is as far as I can tell a MAL or Marine Artillerie Lichter, but can't find anything on what the I in their I lighter stands for, so no wiser on colour scheme, markings, boat numbers etc. Can anyone point me in the right website direction please or furnish a bit of gen? Nothing much on colour schemes for F Lighters. I did mine in an R boat "jagged" pattern, based on one photograph of a Ferry type D in the back of the Paul Beaver book "e-boats and coastal craft" Not sure if my memory is playing tricks on me but Dave Manley (and he will correct me if I have the wrong author here) did a "pamphlet" back in the 90's which had a number of colour schemes in it. Wracking brains to remember if it had an F Lighter in and not sure if it is still available anywhere (lost mine in a move) but hopefully if he see's this he can comment. For general info and for tech specs there is always the following, Ssome of the ships do sport colour schemes but not sure how much reliance should be placed on them. link or Image of an Siebelfahre in COLOUR! link my version picture |
