I'm not sure what you mean by "how they were published." Do you mean who published them? Or are you asking how they were bound (loose leaf, spiral, coil)? My copy obtained last year (they are still in print I think) from OnMilitaryMatters.com is a paperback book IIRC.

Mark
Inside the book on page xiii in the authors forward it gives a description of the contents of each volume including the comment "The second book is the rulebook that is used for play" then says:

"Please note that Book I and Book III are contained in the same cover and that Book II is a seperate volume. Don't ask… it's a long story"

In your copy is there one book with 3 'books' inside, one book with 2 'books' inside or something different?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Three books? Mine is only one softback perfect-bound book, with various inserts.

I have the 1995 edition which is a paperback book with booklets I and III bound in it and a separate booklet II with the game tables on perforated/removable sheets. It may be that your tables have been removed from booklet II and are now just inserts.

Book II are all the charts…..played it a few times and its ok if you like the micromanagement thing….petit tactical is what it claims and its very true!

cheers

Steve1:

My copy exactly matches yours. As far as I know that is the only edition that was ever printed. It references an address for Emperor's Headquarters that was out of date 9 or 10 years ago…

Guys
Thanks for the replies. The original question was Because I had recently sold it through TMP. Purchaser got it touch to ask where the QRS/cheat Sheet booklet was. As I had never had such a booklet I was a little perplexed (I bought the rule book new the year it was released).
As a couple of your responses suggest that I should have had this part and as the buyer suggested we could cancel the deal, that is what I have agreed to do.
Thanks again
Steve

Didn't Mr. Bowden say that he was working on a new edition of these rules?

matthewgreen27 Jul 2010 1:58 p.m. PST

I bought this a couple of years ago – it came with "book 2" a booklet of charts, along with the counters, etc.

Found them unplayable (too many gaps and contradictions) though love the idea of a set of rules at this level. I dream of writing my own…

Matthew, If you still have them and want to sell I am looking for a full set. Drop me an email rbrthpr AT hotmail DOT com

One of the most imprssive set of rule I own.
Informations on units are just great.
But who plays it?
Did someone ever think about an adaptation for 28mm fig?

nsolomon9923 Aug 2010 8:00 p.m. PST

I too found them inspirational but unplayable. Great resource though and wonderful to flip through every now and then and think that someone, somewhere actually has had the time and space and patience to play them.
