Alien Legion link picture

(this popped up for alien legion and it is actually a hellboy pic but is too funny not to share picture )

The Alien Legion is a future space opera version of the French Foreign Legion…mostly a human ruled setting the aliens are lumped in with human criminals and dregs…suicide missions, fringe planet support, small uprising quelling, etc..

So here is the deal…with all the recent action in the world of miniatures can you think of good 28mm and or 15mm examples of the same to make a unit of the Alien Legion?

For me:

(28mm…the wargaming miniature size choice of the Gods!)
Humans, many many to pick from but for my vision I would go with Infinity…and for that matter there are many aliens to pick from within the same company picture picture

Near humans Grymn picture picture

Aliens, Infinity again picture picture picture picture picture picture

Aliens Spugs! picture picture

(And in 15mm)

(I will leave the 15mm choices to those who support the scale, other than spugs which I like in any scale, I will stand by for the supporting crowd to offer choices :)

Hello,

Believe it or not,Alien Legion wasn't what I had in mind when I made Zombiemsith or Darkson Designs aliens.I only recently discovered ,read and loved this comics ,especially the stories.I just wanted new races in a galaxy of miniatures with too many humans.Star Wars, the Shi'ar empire (and many other things) from Marvel and some french comics were more my inspiration I think. For Critical mass Games snakemen ,it was their idea.

However, something a bit like the Alien Legion is something I wanted to see as a customer since Games Workshop released the Tau and I hoped for years they would release some sort of Colonel Schaeffer squad with tau uniform and weapons. Will it ever happen? Unfortunately,I tend to doubt it.

I am only a rookie sculptor and I need to take commissions in order to make a bit of cash and improve but I am working (too slowly for my taste) on some kind of 1:56 alien squad in my spare time and I've also asked help from a much better sculptor than me who will make the weapons and guns.I don't know if any company will ever buy them but I know I'll make them.As many sculptors, there are a lot of things I'd like to make but aliens with teh same uniform is probably what I want the most.

If some of you want to help me with suggestions or feedback on a few things, that would be greatly appreciated or I'll keep an eye on this forum since I know there are some alien legion lovers here.

Thank you for reading and apologies for my english and this long message.

PS:For those willing to help,my email can be found on my webpage:

Hey PF, your english is fine and your sculpting is excellent. I have all of the zombiesmith, january travellers, and most of the ae bounty figs that you did.
I am envious of your skill and look forward to painting more of your creations(which i find to be fresh and full of character)
are you doing any 15mm scifi in the future?
good luck in your endeavors
steve
ps- I just noticed your soon to be produced 15mm scifi dino squad, very nice. looking forward to more in 15mm,please

Rookie? You have got to be kidding me. I wish I could sculpt like that. I'd never stop.

First, apologies to 28mm man.I totally forgot to make a suggestion. If you want a softer or even funny alien like there was in Alien Legion for your squad, the Illyrian scout from Reaper might please to you.A perfect mix of a funny anatomy and a serious pose in my opinion.

ThorLongus:Thank you for the kind words.Yes I am doing some 15mm sci-fi minis these days.I hope you will like them.

cloudcaptain:Well,I hope it doesn't sound like false modesty but here in France, there are many jobs where you 're still a junior or considered young with only a few years of experience so rookie might not be the appropriate term but junior or young are words that can't really apply to me I'm afraid.:D Not to mention, there are so many things I need to improve on my minis or my way of working.

Love Alien Legion, would buy "not Alien Legion" models for sure.

I have been pushing for/wanting some sort of alien coalition/not-Covenant/not Alien Legion sort of figs in 15mm for some time.

The visual effect of a multi-racial force using common equipment and weapons (with approrpiate variants for anatomy) is something that really appeals to me but so far hasn't really been touched on by anybody.

The concept works for both "good guys" like the alien Kegion or for invading alien forces such as the Covenant forces from Halo.

Yes to all the above and Bandit…very nice Sarigar, spot on.

How about the Regiment Games Drantakh (28mm) link

PF
You have good skills and a nice sense of character…if there is room to get better then I welcome your efforts as better, because better than good would be great :)

When I first saw the AE: Bounty and the Zombiesmith aliens, my first thought was of Alien Legion. The look captured what I remembered of that comic series so much that I looked up and found that Dark Horse has put out an Omnibus for AL. I quickly ordered the fist book and it brought back some good old memories.

I also bought that Illyrian Scout from Reaper with the same thing in mind.

I'm thinking of making a Mercenary Crew for Bounty and painting them in black and white armor to resemble Alien Legion.

Another addition to the 28mm Alien Legion stable TMP link just add your choice of weapon/equipment and Zap Brannigan, you have sweet sweet alien candy!
