Mathias (one of the Battle Reporter forum members) has gone and done it again. Awesome stuff really. A great army book for any WFB gamers out there. It's viewable online or downloadable – all for free. Bondsmen, Berserkers, Whalers (!), Valkaries, Werewolves, even the northern cousins of those damned stunties ! If you're interested, here are the details:- link All we ask is that you feedback some comments to the battle reporter forum army projects:- link We have 8 unofficial army books now – plus we've linked to the Chaos Dwarfs – brothers in arms :) Thanks guys, Sigmar By the way, it is of course all totally unofficial and is NOT endorsed by Games Workshop – I just thought I should mention that ! |

Can you post a direct link? I can't seem to find it in the forum. Thanks! |

Very professional looking books. Any idea why he called the book "Norse" instead of "Norsca"? I believe that's the official Warhammer world name for the region. The other books posted: Albion, Cathay, Araby, Kislev -- match the usual Warhammer names for those countries. Not sure about Nippon. |

I have the Chaos Dwarfs one. Nice work! |

altritz, You don't need to login to the forum to download any of the army books. Here's the Norse book:- link Here are all the other books:- (open the army forum you're interested in and go to the pdf page, eg. "Albion Warhammer Fantasy Battle Army Book – PDF") link I hope that helps, Sigmar |

This is why I would not use "Norsca" to name my army book: link The names chosen are the real world names for places with the appropriate mythology. That makes is less GW oriented, and hence perhaps skirts copyright. |

As great as all these books seem, I am not going to look at them if you need to have a Facebook or Scribd account to get them. If they become freely available for download I might take a look. |
| abelp01 | 17 Jul 2010 4:24 a.m. PST |
I have a Facebook account and it seems to be taking way too long! Sigmar, when it's on easier site to download, please post the link. Thanks. |
| altfritz | 17 Jul 2010 5:00 a.m. PST |
Like I said – you need a login to download them. |
| RobH | 17 Jul 2010 6:19 a.m. PST |
Scribd is the same site as Dadi Piombio uses for the Impetvs file downloads. Absolutely dreadful. Insists on you registering then downloading and installing a specific download tool. Best off giving it a miss until it is posted somehere more accessible. |

You make me feel so old, with my old Citadel Journals with the Norse lists. (I feel even older when I pick up "Warhammer Armies"
) Allen |

RobH, you don;t have to install any download tool on the site that the Norse book is on. If you're logged into Facebook or have a Scribd account it should work automatically. Hi guys,
I guess downloading didn't seem much of an issue for me because I just stay logged into Facebook (I don't know what info they collect and I don't really care because I have a fictitious Warhammer name "FranzSigmar") I was going to host them on the Battle Reporter forum itself but Mathias is still making changes because the books are in first draft and it takes me ages to upload them there and they take up a lot of room too. I'd recommend just setting up a "made up" Facebook account. It only takes a few mins. When Mathias tells me he's nearing completion with his changes for each book I'll move them onto the Battle Reporter forum. Sorry for the inconvenience guys. Like I said a fake Facebook account should sort you out in the meantime. If anyone is desperate, join the Battle Reporter forum and send me a personal message (I'm "Sigmar" the administrator and I'll email the Norse army book to the email you registered with (i have to warn you though, it's 23.2 mgb even if I zip it up !) Sigmar |

And to have a scribd account you must register and to download files you must install theur download tool (and whatever other junk they feel you should have) Fake accounts or unwanted invasive software
.great way to promote your work. |

I for one thank you for the link. I am not a Warhammer player but my son is. The Kislev army book is perfect for me however since I do have a large collection of 20mm 17th C. Poles and Muscovites as well as Medieval Russians. I can now take a historical army I have and morph it into the fantasy army to play a few rounds with him. Keep up the excellent work. |

Sigmar Illegitimi nil carborundum. I think you and the author are doing a marvellous job, and I very much appreciate it. Keep up the good work! |

Thanks for explaining why you didn't use "Norsca". |

You make me feel so old, with my old Citadel Journals with the Norse lists. (I feel even older when I pick up "Warhammer Armies"
) Allen I was reading Revening Hordes last night – I think that's the army lists for 1st Ed – or is it 2nd ed? I know Warhammer Armies was for 3rd ed. Which I play, and therefore need :-(

| Farstar | 20 Jul 2010 11:28 a.m. PST |
Unless it was also a sub-set of the rules in 1st or 2nd, the only "Ravening Hordes" book I'm aware of was for WFB 6th. |
| HumorousConclusion | 20 Jul 2010 2:28 p.m. PST |
Ravening Hordes was the army list book for Warhammer 2nd edition. The mini list book for 6th edition was named after it. |
| Farstar | 20 Jul 2010 2:37 p.m. PST |
Gotcha. My familiarity *really* begins with 3rd, though I recall looking at 2nd. It would have been one more book in the box, so I wouldn't have cared what they called it. |
| Matheo | 21 Jul 2010 6:45 a.m. PST |
Ravening Hordes was not part of the original 2nd edition box – AFAIK it was released some time later. 2nd edition had some sample armies in either rulebook or bestiary (I'm at work now, don't have the box with me). |

(Just checking back to see if a non-registered link had been posted, but it seems not.) >>> I'd recommend just setting up a "made up" Facebook account. It only takes a few mins. Never going to happen. I don't have, nor want, a legitimate one in the first place. |
| Lion in the Stars | 22 Jul 2010 3:52 p.m. PST |
Those are some *nicely* laid out books
I'm not entirely sold on the Nauticans, but the Norse book is very nice, really has that Warhammer feel in the art. It doesn't seem overblown, either. I'm going to have to pick up the Araby, Cathay, and Nippon books now. |
| M4cR1II3n | 23 Jul 2010 4:59 a.m. PST |
Guys, you do not need to have a Facebook account to download, just get a Scribd account, it's free and you won't have any hassle with downloading from then on. I will post every book on 4shared as soon as they are updated to 8th ed, Araby is almost done. |
| Darwin Green | 25 Jul 2010 12:50 p.m. PST |
I was humoring the idea of using beastmen to represent vikings. Though it would be nice to give this list a try too and just use them as beastmen in tournaments and other "official" events. |
