How far would you travel to attend a one day event( a Saturday) of your favorite game. 1hr = 60miles/100 Kilometers 2hr = 120mi/200Km 3hr = 180mi/300Km 4hr = 240mi/400Km More |

Some where @ here: 2hr = 120mi/200Km <closest FLGS> 3hr = 180mi/300Km <if there was something that close> |

The furthest I've travelled to a game was 4 hours.. I was rather like a Zombie when I got there..! |

I have traveled 2 1/2 hours, but I seriously wonder if I would go any further driving solo. Probably further if someone else drove! |

I've done 6 hours but I did have to take my kids up to Auckland to spend the holidays with their mother so it probably doesn't count. It was a good day playing Full Thrust while I was up there though. Robert |

I once drove 4 hours to LA for Games Day, spent 8 hours there, then drove 4 hours back. That was a long day. I brought a friend to keep me awake while driving lol! |

I've done 4-5 hours, but by public transport not driving – 200 miles or so is probably my limit, but from Sheffield that doesn't rule out very much of the UK – accessibility's more of an issue than distance. |

2-3 hours is usually my maximum but I have traveled as much as 8 hours (one way) for such an event. Frankly its the people that are involved, not the event that is the attraction. mjc |

Antwerp to Salute is about 4 hours. |
Jana Wang | 07 Jul 2010 1:13 p.m. PST |
I once flew from Dallas, TX to Buffalo, NY to run a game. These days, for a 1 day event (no overnight) I wouldn't go more than 1-2 hours away. |

Depends where you are what the time is – Canadian speed limit is 55 miles per hour isn't it ? Depends how you're travelling too. For Salute I drive to the station, park up and then get a train. In London I get the tube, then switch to the DLR, and walk the last bit of course. Total distance door to door is ~40 miles Takes ~2-2.5 hours. More if there is works on the line for train or underground ot DLR. In general – I'd go about 100 miles tops. |

I recently went from Adelaide to Melbourne (8 hr drive) with an 8' x 4' game table strapped to the roof of my car for a 1 day event. |

As a vendor I have been invited to a number of one day events. Most are outside the range that I normally travel. Most in my area are also a small crowb. Many have flea markets which are thefocus of a show. One day events are tough. Two day events are actually happening. |

For a one-day event, 2-3 hours would be my maximum limit if I'm driving back home that same night. That's time, not distance. Depending on the area, making 60 MPH door-to-door might be tough, so I think 120 miles in 2 hours is optimistic. - Bob |

2-3 hours. But that's not really all that far in Texas, especially if you count Houston traffic. |
SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER | 07 Jul 2010 5:54 p.m. PST |
I've gone 5 hours/240 miles for one day. |

I get 2 games a month, normally. One is 10minutes away,no big deal. The other is an hour and 15 minutes. I would say my tops would be 2 hours ,because thats 4 hours round trip, and more than enough for a one day event(although I have done 3 hrs) for me.However,if it were just to go"shop hopping",I would go alot further. |
AndrewGPaul | 08 Jul 2010 2:15 a.m. PST |
The furthest I've gone is Glasgow to London – about 400 miles – and back in a day to visit Salute. I've done it a couple of times by plane, and this year by train. The furthest I've driven is to Nottingham, although I stayed overnight. The furthest I've gone for a game would be to Manchester – a bit over 200 miles – and back in a day to go to a Hell Dorado tournament. |

We talking round trip or 1 way? Mine is 3 hours round trip just to game. |
Steve Hazuka | 08 Jul 2010 3:38 a.m. PST |
Farthest ever drove for a game was 4 hours Detroit to Traverse City. Used to drive one hour plus one way each week for D&D. Willing to go 5 hours for a convention but I work every Saturday for 24 hours so weekends are basically screwed. |
Klebert L Hall | 08 Jul 2010 3:59 a.m. PST |
2 or 3 hours. Longer than that, usually I'd stay over if the hosts have a free patch of floor. -Kle. |

I've done a day trip to Salute by coach, underground and DLR a couple of times. Around 4 hours travelling each way but, as I'm not driving, it doesn't matter too much |

Flew to San Jose to attend an event on Saturday when Origins was there years ago. Might still do that, but it would have to be a very special crowd and game. |
The Nigerian Lead Minister | 08 Jul 2010 10:00 a.m. PST |
1 hour normally. Beyond that, I'm not averse to doing it in theory, yet I've always failed my morale check when faced with a drive of much more than an hour. |
Jeremy Sutcliffe | 08 Jul 2010 12:58 p.m. PST |
Using public transport and including half an hour/45 minutes from my home to the nearest major railway station 3 hours is about the most I'll do. From Manchester (UK) I'd put Derby and York at the limits for me. |
richarDISNEY | 08 Jul 2010 1:06 p.m. PST |
2-3 hrs. I do remember changing my layover on a flight to San Fran so I could run over to Pacificon and meet Rob and Anne Bowling from RLBPS
