Fabulous pictures and I am very grateful to you for bringing the work of these guys to our attention, but I think Raùl Foj wold be even more complimented if the context of these pictures were presented:

link

Which is from the site:

falcatadevillar.com

A note to non-Explorer users – I found the above site's front page links did not work in my FireFox at home, but in Explorer worked just fine, which is how I got the part of the site Tango brought us the other pictures.

Again, great job of bringing this to our attention, but I think the owner of the pictures might be both complimented but also a little disappointed that his whole site or page is not presented.

Yes, that adds context. Thanks. An eclectic and interesting body of work.

Thanks for the link, Tim.

I would tried.

I had received the pics as you had see by mail.
(Usually I received dozen like that!)

I only share them with you.

When I received a link or a page, no problem to put it here.
At least, I'm happy that Ditto Bird could access to the site. I'm very bad with the net. Cero skills.

Well, Mr. de la Soul, it takes one Bell man to know another.

Tango0130 Jun 2010 5:57 p.m. PST

Sorry, can't understand what you mean.

Can you explain me a little more?

By the way, what you mean with "de la Soul"?

Thanks in advance.

I'm really not sure I believe you.

In any event, and not to rain on any parade, but it is a very inaccurate representation of Antietam. Of course, if that does not matter, then fine.

"Can you explain me a little more?"

Bell usually puts out the phone book.

"By the way, what you mean with "de la Soul"?"

I thought you were a contributor to the AOI ? :)

I think the best thing about this dio is the effective way the figures are integrated into the terrain. No bases visible, and the figures stand clear of the ground.

Very good, and very hard to do. Especially for this number of figures.

Hey Rev, don't knock it. Sure there are inaccuracies, but since when has anything ever been accurate? Just respect the fact that some folks from another country is fascinated enough with our historical foolishness to build scenes.

I checked out a couple more of those years and Custer/etc vs the Natives had quite a few pics. Might even be more.

Digo 'Muchos gracias' a ellos que estaba construyendo nuestros historia. !Bendigase!

We in England have a lot of interest many had relatives that fought for both sides…..It is not yet proven, an Edward Knight fought with the 7th Tennessee as is reputed to be a Crimean war veteran from the old 24th Foot and a relative of mine.

We as a club have campigned the Shennadoah (fell apart went the union player went into a sulk at getting whooped). We have just finished the Kentucky Campaign (went to CS) and Missouri (fell to the union).

We are also putting on in a few weeks Sharsburg and in June Gettysburg day 2, we have 28mm at 1:10, I have built 40 foot of snake, post and rail and wall fences alone.

So yes ACW is huge here.

Rev Zoom,

Agreed. Not very accurate and does not display even how CW battles were fought. Nice look though.

I'm glad to see non-American interest in our Civil War, and hope this will encourage additional study of the battlefield and the methods of warfare used during the ACW.

Not gloating, but this is a GAME we did that I think looks much closer to the original battle (part of it anyway):

firstvarty: howdid you make the fields?

That's a wonderful Burnside's Bridge set up.

firstvarty197911 Mar 2012 6:49 p.m. PST

The fields are simply fabric store-bought cordaroy that is a mottled tan/light brown. They make a great plowed field!

I admire your work 1st Arty.

Bottom Dollar12 Mar 2012 3:14 a.m. PST

yes, that looks very close to the period of photos of the area.

@Tango01,

>Sorry, can't understand what you mean.<

Don't worry, I don't understand either – even after the explanation.

John the Greater12 Mar 2012 6:10 a.m. PST

First, thank you Armand for the pictures. You always come across the most interesting stuff!

1st Arty: an amazing bit of terrain there. It is the best representation of the lower bridge (aka, Burnside's bridge) I have ever seen on a gaming table. I have walked the field many times as Antietam is a little over an hour from my house.

Thank you Armand and Tim for the pictures of Raúl's diorama. I'm sorry for non-Explorer malfunction, it's my fault -yes, I have Cero skills.

The web falcatadevillar.com is only containing the basics of our association. In fact, Raúl has extensive interest in the States' History in the second half of XIX century, and he has made other works in different scales about this subject. Some pictures of these are also in our web.

Raúl and Rafa can be contacted through facebook at: escala1/72asociacionfalcata. Sure they have more pictures, as we have organized different expositions, apart form the annual ones in August. Last show was a month ago and there were many works from Raúl.

Hope you like it.
Enric.

Tango0114 Mar 2012 11:45 a.m. PST

Glad you had enjoy Raúl's work and please Enric, send to him a "grande abrazo" from my part.
I enjoy so much his work.
