I have always been a fan of mounted Sci-Fi. I really like the old Warzone Bauhaus figure on a horse. TMP link I think these would be great to have for 15mm Sci-Fi. |

Alien creature mounts, with human or nonhuman riders. Some not-Tauntaun riders or not-Tallarn Rough Riders would be great to see. There are a handful of bikes and jetbikes (I like both offerings from GZG especially) already in the 15mm market. More along those lines would help too. Chris Basement Gaming Bunker |

I would love alien mounts as well as pack beasts. Also I would love to see animals that are ridden in ways other than horses. Add to this a desire to see larger animals that are the equivelent of elephants and such. |

Honestly, I'd be interested in Post Apoc humans on horses. Something like the guys in The Postman

Sci-fi figures on horses, like the Rhodesian mounted troops. I don't find it hard to believe that non-fuel/energy mounts would be imported to primitive or low tech worlds. MiniPatton's comment would be fine also. I'd actually like to see a range of Post Apoc figures that could be used for miniature games to mirror the world of "Fallout 3". Agree with emu2020 that some 'heavy' transport types would be good. Dan |

The big geneered dogs from Drake's General series would be cool. Not sure how well they'd work in reality – smarter and more vicious than a horse but all that meat to feed them – although I suppose you could let them eat the enemy casualties after a battle. Might lead to bad habits though – packs of horse-sized feral dogs with a taste for human flesh and all. Neat concept though. |

Well, dogs of any size don't 'need' meat and i believe that in the Drake series of books they are indicated as not being fed meat (and being unhappy about it). I'd be happy with horses on a primitive world, used for scouting purposes (no cavalry in the future). Dan |

To be honest, horses would be a quite viable resource regardless of how advanced a colony world is. Anything shy of a homeworld is unlikely to have all that much in readily available supplies for mechanical items and a biological mode of transport would always be a good standby. |

" Dan, I'm afraid my little mini-Dachshund with the ego of a large German Shephard will disagree vociferously with you. She is constantly on the prowl for food, most of all meat, and will trade many items for it. If she doesn't have something to trade, she will find, or make something, e.g. pulling paper and envelopes from tables and other locations, etc. She even shreds them into small pieces, so she has more to barter with. |

Urban Mammoth put out a bunch of fun 28mm Dinos, the biggest being the Behemoth Assault Tank. picture Michael Lovejoy also created some in 6mm scale. Not sure if he sold them to any one. picture |

Though it is technically true that dogs can survive without meat, it's not how they are wired and they will not WANT to. Top Gun's hot dog is a good example. -Eli |

<quote>Alien creature mounts, with human or nonhuman riders.</quote> I'd second this. No place on the battlefield for horses anymore, much less in scifi situations but if your mount was say, naturally armored, extremely fast on it's feet or you could use shields to protect yourself then I could see it. Otherwise human beings riding horses (or wolves for that matter) into modern or future battles = extreme fail. |

The big geneered dogs from Drake's General series Or their predecessor, the Gamma World "Podog". Heck, Gamma World has several good SF/animal mounts. |

My miniatures like meat, but live mostly on cereal type foods (smile), but since they are only in the 5-10 pound class I guess I'll have to take your word that large dogs need meat regularly. I'm thinking that one might visualize aliens mounted who used their mounts as 'cavalry' if they are at a certain tech level, but humans would use mounts (horses) as transportation and scouting. Dan |
