I've been working on Outpost new highwaymen figures and need a suitable carriage for them to rob … any suggestions for a source … also … can someone tell me how Front Rank figures are sized up … the Outpost dwarf my Foundry figures … if Front Rank were larger than Foundry, some of the civilians in their lines might be useful

I use the Front Rank civilians with the Outpost highwaymen.
The dwarfing part is that the new Foundry 18th century figures?

If you can find one (no idea if they still make them) GW put out an excellent stagecoach for Mordhiem:

The dwarfing part is compared to my French Revolution figures … I originally was going to use those to fill in as background characters, etc, since the clothing is similar.

Thanks for the Blue Moon listings. I would have never thought to look in those lines.

Anyone have a clue how the Blue Moon highwaymen stack up to the new Outpost figures?

They sell them in the wedding isle of most Hobby Lobby stores and such…in packs of 8 or so. There's normally a half off bridal sale each week :) They are more realistic in size though. They have horses but are made in clear plastic. A quick coat of Fusion will take care of that though. The roof of the cab will open if you want to detail or place figs.

Several excellent previous threads on this subject, inlcuding picture links of the Blue Moon coach and the plastic one from Michael's wedding supplies (and it can be very impressive with a good paint job!). Check these:

Blue Moon, Outpost and Foundry all fit in very well together

There is a UK company (based in Scotland, I think) whose name completely escapes me now, but which makes a "large" 28mm – probably not far off 40mm – coach and team, with crew and passengers. The item is a proper nobleman's carriage, for an alternative Regency world of Orcs etc, but you can also buy a "human" version. The only problem is that the horses were massive on the example I saw – think Clydesdales or those huge Belgian gee-gees that pull beer wagons.

They were at Salute about 3-4 years ago – anyone remember who they are?

There are two versions of a period appropriate coach here:

The clear plastic Michaels' coaches are really pretty good for the price: 6 of them for $7.98. Size-wise they look fine, but the horses have to be replaced. Michaels discontinued them, but some stores still have some in stock on the shelves in the wedding section. If you want one, I've probably got one lying around somewhere you can have. Just let me know. Tom

Thanks, MC – that is indeed the one (they seem to have dropped the idea of having human figures as well – and those horses are HUGE).

Redoubt Enterprises do an ECW Coach and I often see thier figures described as closer to 30mmm.
