Example . . . If those are SF Germans, would these work as SF Japanese? link link TMP link Dan The next decision would be whether to use them as a re-surging Axis on Earth or, perhaps, as competing nations in the conquest of a space colony, such as Mars. Decisions, decisions. |

I'll be using the Eureka Germans as hi-tech troops from a secret Nazi base still very active in 1948. The scientists and commander of the base have set up their own little niche in South America as WW2 goes into extra innings. The base will come under attack by US paratroops (prolly Peter Pig) and British Paratroops (also Peter Pig). The details are still vague and the location of the base will likely change. (BTW, there was a nazi lab in S. America located on an island in the middle of a mountain lake. The ruins of the concrete structures are still there today.) |

I like the Peter Pig idea by Sloppypainter, but how about their Modern range? peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm You could have a horde of motley militia occupying a township or mining community with the Eureka Germans as corporate "hard men" there to turn them out Alternately, you could have the Eureka Germans as an elite force sent to take out an uncooperative local government, using some of the Professional or regulars as local troops Finally, you could have the French Foreign Legion or US Marines as high-tech opponents for vital resources Or – mix in all three! |
MWright | 18 May 2010 6:41 a.m. PST |
PP Hardened Militia go well. I also some of the old PP Sci Fi figs, now sold on to Moonfleet. They look a bit Samurai-ish. There is also Kremlin Miniatures Sci Fi samuarai and ninja. Battle fronts Russian Assault Engineers with Body Armour. Im basing mine on FoW bases, not a big fan of individually based 15mm, as a VERY late WW2 or WWW2 FoW force. As Human Imperials for Alien Squad Leader. Space Frogs link Use them 2018 the returning Nazis from the upcoming film Iron Sky. Now I just have to work out to I use My modern USMC or do they once more invade Poland?? |

If you guys decide you need to see the SciFi Germans compared to a few more of the Peter Pig range than I did with the comparisons I added last night (link: TMP link ), let me know. I think I have Hardened Militia, FF Legion, IDF and maybe a few more in the unpainted moderns box. Heck, I may even have the PP SciFi troopers somewhere (sad that I do not know). Jeff |

Well, I'm using them against WW2 Americans and Brits, since they represent the 101 Schwere Panzer Jaeger Kompanie (based for Flames of War). Fearless Veterans, body armor, and able to roll motivation to continue the assault if they've been pinned in defensive fire. If they're on single-bases (like my former HMG platoon), then they're getting used against the Rebel Minis rioters, and maybe some BF Partizans. Those guys represent the Kerberos Panzer Cops. |

I am using the SciFi Germans and Rebel Minis as near future Germans and Japanese troops in a failed African country. There to maintain peace while the large corporations plunder the land of whatever resources they can haul or drill away. Just need to find some near future troops to use as US troops. Will have several factions in the failed county, several competiting government factions (different tribes) backed by the Chinese and US, Islamic fanatics, and Chritian Militia. So a nice mix ready to ignite as the 1st match drops. |

"I wonder if Neo-Muslims would throw their lot with the SF Germans." Well, some of the Muslim Arabs fought for the WWII Germans

(I make fun of others) | 19 May 2010 11:32 a.m. PST |
That's an interesting comment. Muslims? Yes, some units of European Muslims, though badly and in relatively small numbers. Muslim Arabs? Not really. More to the point, large numbers of Muslims fought against the Nazis on many fronts -- serving with the British and French in Africa and elsewhere, and serving in Soviet armies on the Eastern Front. |
Lion in the Stars | 19 May 2010 12:41 p.m. PST |
@ Covert: Great minds think alike. I'm still trying to get the Kerberos shield insignia made up so I can get decals made. Then my truckborne Panzer Jaeger will really be scary! |
CooperSteveOnTheLaptop | 20 May 2010 3:35 a.m. PST |
Porfirio- your comment about Muslims fighting the Nazis is true but there were Palestinians in SS formations. One guy +*%$ed the Germans off & was actually stuck in a concentration camp surrounded by Jews for a period. By 1947 the Palestinians were offering the Jews very limited settlement rights under the governorship of this bloke & and one other who had also served in an SS-formation. Strangely enough the Jews didn't accept it

Dan, nope, I'm too busy painting up my first 15mm offerings ( a series of grounded light starships) as well as squeezing in time for my accumulated 15mm goodies from Khurasan, so I must content myself from sighing wistfully at pretty pictures of these Teutonic Terrors of the Far Future

I think the fun part about 15mm is you can paint any 15 in to scifi. I am going to do a Orcs Drift with my MJ orcs, and some colonial Zulu Britz. I think if I paint them scifi they will fit well. Noel |
