I saw some painted flats at Salute. Those I saw were either 1870 or WW1 German lancers. I actually missed them at the show and spotted them on someone's blog. Can anyone tell me about which company had them at their stand? Hopefully they are sold unpainted, as I want to paint them (or some other flats) up. |

I think they are from Berliner Zinnfiguren. link |

They looked like they would make very nice decoration for a Wargames room. |

I didn't make it to Salute this year, but on previous occasions the Continental Wars Society has always had flats on display alongside their demo game. |

It could be the CWS. I googled them and found flats mentioned in several places. I have not been able to find the actual flats they used. They were German lancers wearing Pickelhaubes. I could not make out the size by eye. I don't know if they are 30mm, 54mm or whatever. |

They were 30mm. There were pictures in Joe Dever's run I think. |

Thanks. I saw the pictures on the web site of Ionnis of "Leuthen Journal" fame. 30mm seems the perfect size for flats for me. Thanks for the tip about Joe Denver. I met him at the show this year, but didn't know his name. I think my first flats purchase will be some 30mm Zastrow Cuirassier. I stumbled on them while googling. Even though I found the site of the designer, and he mentions several vendors, I still can't track the figures down. I am having terrible trouble purchasing flats. I suppose I will have to start thinking in German. |

No, not at all. There is a Flats folder here where you will get some help. Also, find yourself the BFFS site, links and forums here britishflatfigures.org.uk They have a great magazine and, I think, still do bulk orders. Failing that use Google to translate to German. It works well enough. |
