Not bad. But I don't think Airfix ever released a set of Apaches, and those don't look like any Airfix figures I've ever seen. What are they really?

Very nice – glad I'm not that poor Sergeant!

En Avant08 May 2010 5:38 p.m. PST

Mostly if not all the figures are convertions from Airfix figures. It is a notable work.

Looks very nice. The terrain is great!

bilsonius08 May 2010 8:33 p.m. PST

They're all from Erik Trauner's Dreamland 1/72 website, and none are Airfix…

Where does Erik say this diorama is not Airfix? I found the pictures on the framed site you provided, Bil, but can't see any comments on the figures.

I had received the pics from a friend of mine from Austria and he said to me that they are mostly old Airfix.

If you take a look closely, you can indentify many Airfix figures of course as convertions.

But what is the importance if they are mostly Airfix or not?

The interesting thing is what amazing work had been made by this guy.

Sorry if I missed them – I thought I was familiar with most of the Airfix sets. Erik's intro just says that he incorporates bits from "various figurines", but they are so superbly re-modelled that any figs could have been used.

"But what is the importance if they are mostly Airfix or not?"

You stated!

"This is a little diorama of the Apaches with Old Airfix figures on 1/72mm."

Did you not?

Those are nice. I noticed he used Atlantic figs in some of them.

Norman D Landings10 May 2010 7:27 a.m. PST

Very impressive… the composition is just perfect.

En Avant10 May 2010 2:24 p.m. PST

But Mr. 11thACR… did you read my full comments of May8th?

I cannot understand why you wrote: You stated! as a boy accusation on a game.

I repeat that my Austrian friend had wrote to me that they were mostly old Airfix figures.
As I can see that some of them are clearly Airfix, I had translate that.
So… if my friend had been grong or not… it's not matter to made a fury stand.
With a simple disagree word it's enought.

Looking for controversy over that so interesting work is not useless for nobody.
The important thing is if you enjoy the diorama or not.

No, while it's not a big deal, you did identify them as "…Old Airfix…" figures.

I fully expected to see that.

I am not bothered by the possible inaccuracy of some of the figure identification but 11th ACR's comments seem germane. Perhaps a bit anal retentive but there clearly may be other figures in the superlative diorama besides Airfix. See John Leahy's comment.

To you "…The important thing is if you enjoy the diorama or not…" but to others that may not be as important. I don't find dioramas all that interesting beyond about 30 seconds myself but I know others do.

Yes, this may seem (and may be) a tempest in a teapot. But you are now arguing with 11th ACR on a point that does not seem overly important (to me.) grin I suggest you simply let it ride.

Gracias,

Glenn

Well Mr. Warbeards… it was not my intention to argue, I'm only tryng to explain, but as many other guys here had advice me not to explain nothing and to "let it ride" as you said, I would take your advice.

Sad thing for me because if the interchanging thoughst are racionals, these is the real interesting point of a forum to me.

But I had to adapt.

Thanks for your advice.

Cheer up, Armand! I think it's just that a lot of people were looking forward to new work that they hadn't seen before, rather than sites that have been available for some years via PSR links etc…

Con mejores deseos…

En Avant,

Well, your comments (in total) came across slightly aggressive (as did 11th ACR's) but that may be a language issue (I had to explain to a friend that "ano" from an english keyboard was not equivalent to "aņo" from a spanish keyboard) in a holiday e-mail she sent to members of a Hispanic Employee Council.) grin

Anyway, I enjoyed the diorama and the level of skill it demonstrated. I, for one, had not seen it before. wink

Gracias,

Glenn

Many thanks for your encouragement Mr.Bilsonius!.
You are a kindly person.

My friend Warbeads, I totally understand.
I take note that always my intention was to "dialogue" with any forum members, but sometimes I had to put an end.
No problem with that. I'm learning here.

It's so different on "latin" forums!. Ha!Ha!.

About the confution of spanish words, please allow me another one.
Coņo is not the same as Cono.
The first one is an insult…Ha!.

Thanks for your explaniation.
