So, when are we banning the Nappy boards again? |

Just like junior high
I'm over lurking on the Nap. History board wondering if there are primary sources (in French) that have Napoleon putting his pants on left leg first or right leg first and I miss everything over here. The wife just woke up and asked what I've been doing for two hours on the computer
porn would probably be a simpler (and less dorky) explanation. BTW, that wasn't an insult to the History board
it really is my favorite little slice of nerd-dom right now. Take it easy, C. |

"What I don't get is that I thought Mr. Pitts was here to promote and sell a set (or two) of rules. When did getting angry like this (justified or not) ever assist one in promoting a product or service? There are many times when I've had to eat my frustration because I had a higher purpose at stake. It is interesting to watch someone loose sight of their obvious self-interest." When you are conducting business in a less than above board fashion and someone questions it, you get defensive. One defense is to attack. Empire is the only set of rules I've ever played and ever intended to play. Disappointing to see what has happened here. On the other hand, maybe I'll get my very own "you can tell a fake Empire fan" thread. |

Please do not avoid attending Texicon just because of Greg Pitts. The organizers took the risk and stepped up to run a new gaming event. They need our support. When you're playing a game, it won't matter who the 'Miniatures Magnate' is. I hope they are very successful. texicon.net |

Everyone consists of
him. His was the 2nd (and only, so far) post on that thread. Married & divorced twice; two kids and 2 grand kids of my own (& four adopted grand kids). Now I live in sin with a great gal, Marie.
Divorced twice, eh? It seems he es most people off with his attitude. |

Thanks for the link for the weather channel procopius, that really dulled my senses. however, I did some analysis on this thread, there were 13 posts, 10 of which were from Mr Pitts alone
link I wonder whether he has nothing else to do

I think I just might know this guy. Not sure but he does look like a individual that I ran into when I was station at Fort Huachuca back in the late 1980's. He was a big time Empire player, which back then was the ruleset for many Napoleonic players. I brought his Saxon Corps from him. If this is the same individual he was a plat back then also. Very hard to get along with. |

Mr Pitts is a sandwich short of a picnic. I don't think he even has the picnic basket, let alone any contents. I know you'll be reading this Senor Pitts, so suck in the knowledge that not ALL publicity is good publicity. I bet despite all this you are feeling the victim, aren't you? What you are experiencing, I'm afraid, is just a personality issue. |

in the 70s and 80s PITTS was a big, blonde red faced guy that wore glasses and was well practiced in the infamous SCOTTY BOWDEN "HO-HO-HO! COME ON DOWN !" laugh that was synonymous with what was then referred to as THE ARLINGTON SIMULATION SOCIETY (THE ASS for short) by other DALLAS FORT WORTH METROPLEX gamers. . . when i first encountered them the core members of THE ASS were PITTS, PERRICONE, BERSHIG, and BOWDEN. SCOTTY was running 25-mm NAPOLEONIQUE and WRG II or III EDTION ANCIENTS rules at the ROYAL GUARDSMEN (JIM ODEM/CLEVE BURTON owners) on LEMMON AVENUE in DALLAS. the ROYAL GUARDSMEN was at its zenith for gaming as well as supplying many sets of rules and 25-mm MINIFIGS, 25-mm HINCHLIFFE, and KREIGSPIELER 20-mm NAPOLEONIQUES miniatures . SKIP NICHOLSON was the only full time store employee.
i met some very nice gamers from ARLINGTON (KEN RAY, ED PHILLIPS, BRETT REAVIS, JIM COOPER, and others come to mind), and even more from DALLAS, NORTH TEXAS and OKLAHOMA during my early gaming years, but PITTS was not one of them.
the various bad gaming experiences i had during my early gaming years were at the hands of the infamous four (BOWDEN, BERSHIG, PERRICONE, and PITTS). needless to say my own style and philosophy of gaming did not jive with theirs, ands after several years of fringe interaction with them, i lost touch with these guys and concentrated on playing with folks who played for fun and not to count coup, or climb the SOCIETY OF ANCIENTS international gaming ratings list.
sadly, it seems that PITTS has not changed over the years. we were never close friends, or even friends, but i did know him, and it is sad to see him traumatically amputate both legs on TMP this way while attempting to start a .
have not any clue as to the status of any of the other core members of THE ASS except for SCOTTY, who seems to become larger than life with the passage of time, and is apparently treated with same respect shown to GRANT, FEATHERSTONE, BATH, SCRUBY, SEIGFREID, etc. am a veteran of EMPIRE, JOHNNY REB, DON'T TREAD ON ME, COUER DE LION, and other rules written by BOWDEN, and i believe, KEN RAY way back then, including play testing some of them at the ROYAL GUARDSMEN. i am the genuine article, one of the first or second generation of DFW gamers, an aulde fart, who has played with almost everything from dinosaurs to starships and starship troopers since the 70s.
i am RON, aka DAWGIE, if anyone wants to know who i am.

the above should read as follows: sadly, it seems that PITTS has not changed over the years. we were never close friends, or even friends, but i did know him, and it is sad to see him traumatically amputate both legs on TMP this way while attempting to start a business. . . further more, i am associated with and i have not a clue as to the details about the TEXICON convention, but, i would urge that folks support it inspite of how they feel about PITTS conduct.
someone has gone to a lot of trouble to set it up, so try it, and maybe y'all will like it.

it was a set of rules that I tried to read and for some reason, just couldn't. So I can't judge them for playbility or anything. If I can find them, I'll take a look at them again

Piling on isn't very productive or, at least to me, very interesting. I have to disagree. This should stand as a lesson to Johnsons everywhere that there is a consequence to their behaviour, and that is a through and rather mild lambasting on a very civilised web site. You only need to pop over to Frothers to see what sort of reception he'd get there. |

i am RON, aka DAWGIE, if anyone wants to know who i am. Hey Ron, it's Clay! We have the 'wayback' machine going now it seems. Can you tell me what I did at Armadilo Soldier Shop (the other A.S.S.) that was so heinous to get PITTS' attention? He had posted this: "Why not instead spend your time telling us all why your affiliation with the Armadillo Soldier Shop in Dallas, Texas was so abruptly terminated? It would seem that the last thing you would want publicized is the incident in question." But The Editor filtered it. Good times
