"Now, what I want to see is . . . a man eating plant. I think you need to work on some 'killer' floral critters so I can buy them for Mutants and Death Ray Guns. There is a major shortage of 15mm plant people."

He has also said to me "I still think you need to consider some plant people or killer floral arrangements. :)"

QUESTION:

So, other than making 15mm miniatures of a Vegan ("Man eating plant?"), and before he sees this thread and gives us the real answer, what do you think JRacel is thinking of for 15mm gaming?

Do you guys think he means humanoid stuff like this?

If so, I think that Hydra and others have something similar:

Or do you think he means weirder critters, like these?

I am taking a wild guess here but he might need the following in his man eating plants…

1. Leaves for all that extra free energy as well as a close combat blade weapon,
2. Roots for extra leverage and increased movement. Also useful for grabbing prey,
3. Big teeth, definitely very useful when trying to chew and digest all those bony boy scouts and girl guides… The teeth could quite possibly be sharp branches ?

:o)

Cheers,

Piotr @ Pole Bitwy

The plants that would overwhelm and consume his management structure so he wouldn't be forced to work 60+ hours a week and could actually game :)

CloudCaptain: "The plants that would overwhelm and consume his management structure"

So, instead of a "man eating plant", he actually meant a "manager-eating plant" then? :)

Well, that would mean that 1) it would need to have a sizable mouth:

How about these other questions about them:

2) Would they be able to move on its own? If so, how fast?
3) Do they kill using sharp spines and tendrils, or do they grasp tools and weapons?

P.S. This is interesting:

Ok, so granted "Man eating plant" could be taken differently than I intended, it would take an IT Department building a software solution to construe my meaning as being a "Vegan" even though the rest of the document clearly indicates "killer alien plant lifeforms that like to dine on human flesh" (this could even be the sentence before or after the "man eating plan line)". Don't even get me started on what they can do with their interpretation because of a "missing" comma!

I would like to comment on Cloudcaptain's statement, but I am afraid the corporate watchdogs will likely find me and take me out behind the woodshed for it.

I like the spouts from Hydra (and need to order a few) but thing there are still some opportunities to make some other plant people for MDRG games or even the people looking for a GAMA world like setting. I think QRF has a few plants in their 15mm line, but I think that is about it at this point. We have plenty of bugs and other kinds of critters, but the vastness of variety offered by a plant based army (made up of many types of specialized plants) as well as just stand alone plants fro scenery and Pulp type games has not be explored yet.

Dan, I like your suggestions with the exception of the last one. I find it disturbing, but not exactly sure why . . . .

Pole Bitwy has the right idea.

Just something for you guys to consider. Heck, if Dan gets to request camel faced aliens with sombreros, I think I am allowed some plant critters. grin

Sorry, it was the first one:

Now I need to get done and go into the office. I have not reached 60 hours yet this week, but I am very close. :)

Doesn't Fenryll already make those for 28mm?

Are they 28mm (apart from the skull!)? They could with minor modification be 15mm or smaller…Giant carniverous plants!

War Monkey02 Apr 2010 9:08 p.m. PST

Why do they all have to have huge sharp white teeth why can't they just be sneaky, and just ambush you.
