Second the floppy hat idea. This will open up the range to the Boyne campaign and the Nine Years War. |

I did say head variants and slight pose differences, for anyone not reading properly! I understand the nature of the period, and drill, but every figure alike with the same face and exact same pose looks poor. A little variety is all I seek. Not Old Glory animation. |

10thFoot; My apologies then Sir, I did misunderstand. You can look at Tony's proposed sprue make-up this way though: out of every box, one-third will be completely static unless you do a bit of conversion, one-third will be "semi-static" with at least the option to turn heads and possible vary headgear, and the final one-third will be completely up to you as to assembly and choices. Tony hasn't really addressed the issue of the separate heads for 24 of the figures, will they all be the same head or will there be slight differences as the Numidians, Vikings and Saxons had? I still personally think the "best" alternative is fully-sculpted heads with separate headgear for all 36 figures, both the 12 "static" ones and the 24 "non-static" ones. This will allow the most flexibility for altering the angle or rake of the headgear for some more variety, and (if the heads are different) the most possible combinations within a given unit. This will also allow the inclusion of round, floppy hats for the 1680-1700 era as well so that (as already pointed out by dbf1676 and others) we can do the Boyne and the latter stages of the Nine Years War (or LoA) with these same figures. Again, my apologies for misunderstanding your comment Sir. Bill Sir William the Aged warsoflouisxiv.blogspot.com |

What a nice Easter egg – a big thumbs up to you Tony! I believe the sprue assortment is just about right to keep as many people happy as seems feasible at all – and I think I can guess what you have in mind for the pikes
My only gripe would be with the overall proportions, for an era where food was more scarce than it is today. Could you perhaps put the CAD process to advantage here and just "stretch" the whole figure? In any case it's great to see a League item for the Horse&Musket period finally take shape. With a lot of others here, I shall look forward to the cavalry even as I ready my credit card. – Plastic for plastic, the barter of the future! |

Although I too prefer the slimer look, I think that as they are they might mix in well with front rank type figures. After all you wont be able to build a full army with these. |

If they mix with at least one of the metal ranges out there I will be happy. I know WF plan to make a complete range of WSS troops in plastics in the fullness of time, but until then we will need metals to fill the gaps. Here's hoping the Cavalry are not long behind. |

These are looking really good, can't wait to get going on this period. Think these will get a lot of people into doing the WSS. I'm hoping they are compatable with the Front Rank metals. I know some people will have the smaller figures from Wargames Foundry and Dixon ranges but the newer ranges from Front Rank are big 28's. |

I agree with compatibility with Front Rank. I would do WSS in a heart beat if I had plastic compatible with FR Minis. |

Quick update with latest heads in process: link We're attempting to wrap up the sculpting this week – fitting it in among a bunch of other things! Please chime in. Best, Tony Tony Reidy Wargames Factory wargamesfactory.com |

I am still not convinced by the eyes, but they will probably look better when scaled down. Otherwise, great, and I am still buying! |
