Hi Dan, The only ones that are close to that are Khurasan Miniatures Accursed Getinmahbeli. The problem is they are only women. They ate all the men. :) picture You should sign up for my forum. miniaturereview.com/forum2 |

Thanks. They look more South American or typical Asian though. Dan |

I bet you might be able twist Jon's arm to make some. |

They look more South American or typical Asian though. Yeah, they are basically dressed and equipped as Filipino headhunters. Portly female headhunters. |

MiniatureReview: "I bet you might be able twist Jon's arm to make some." Khurasan Jon, Any plans to make "African" pygmies for 15mm? If you did, you would be the very first in the business to do so! Dan |
khurasanminiatures | 23 Mar 2010 6:26 p.m. PST |
Sorry, no plans, not sure where they'd fit in, except arguably planet 15, but that's a stretch! Mystri Island is populated by a mix of Latin American and Macronesian peoples. |
Cacique Caribe | 23 Mar 2010 6:28 p.m. PST |
Got it. Thanks though. Dan |

Pygmies fit Planet 15 beautifully, although I'd want some Jonny Quest figs to go with them: YouTube link While you're at it, a big cartoony pteradactyl in both flight and ground modes would be nice. And a robot spider. And that frog-fish-dinosaur monster from Sea Haunt. You know you want to sell them to us. :) |
Cacique Caribe | 23 Mar 2010 6:57 p.m. PST |
They would certainly sell! Dan |

And a robot spider. Actually lots of people have told me that the Mekanoid heavy gunbot (name not decided on yet) looks like a robot spider with parts left off. picture That's a headless one, it would look even more spidery with the entire gunturret left off. |

Last Hussar, Thanks! Since they are for 15-17mm gaming, I think you are right in that something 10-12mm reflects a pygmy's 4-foot height: picture I would love to see a picture of what those 10mm Pendraken Zulus look like. I just hope they don't all have shields and that they are not too skinny. Does anyone here have pics of those Pendraken Zulus? link Thanks. Dan |

May I respectfully suggest looking at my blog, where the French Foreign Legion is currently battling Zulus-as-Pygmies. (28mm Dixon figures vs 15mm Old Glory) The only drawback to using Zulu is they don't have blowguns. kelroywashere.blogspot.com |

CC, I have also been searching for pygmies recently – some great 28mm ranges, but as you point out, nothing in in my beloved 15mm scale
Good luck and godspeed in your search sir. Keep us posted and if I see anything I'll let you know. |
Last Hussar | 24 Mar 2010 3:39 p.m. PST |
I think you are right am I ever wrong? :) (No asking Lady Hussar on this one!) You could also trog through the ancients ranges, or maybe other colonials – Afghan tribesmen perhaps? or Hittites? |

Andrew, You rock, sir! Too bad that range doesn't seem to have any archers and/or blowguns. Those figures sure look nice. Very, very nice indeed. I'll do as Last Hussar suggests and check other 10mm ranges for the missing bits. Hopefully, he'll be right again. :) I wonder what these "AI11 – Forest tribesmen bow/javelin" look like? link Dan |

There's some pics of the Ancient Indian's on our Flickr: link We had another guy asking about pygmies recently, the Masai tribesmen from the East Africa range could be another option. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything with blowpipes. Pics of the Masai: link |

Thanks Dave! Those might work. 1) Are you planning on making any normal height 10mm generic Darkest Africa deep Congo jungle-type tribesmen any time soon? Examples: link link 2) By the way, when will those Samurai Apes be ready for sale? And how tall will they be? link Dan |
Pole Bitwy PL | 24 Mar 2010 11:52 p.m. PST |
We plan to have a small group of Post Apoc pygmies / mutants for our World Wide Water game, but definitely later Dan. What should they be armed with apart from blow pipes ? |
Warbeads | 25 Mar 2010 4:50 a.m. PST |
No blow pipes? No bows? How hard to add these (tubes/sprue/etc. would work) can it be? Gracias, Glenn |

I think the Pendraken are a victim of their own good sculpting for this project -- I'd expect that 10mm Pygmies would only work if they are big headed sculpts, so that they still look in scale with 15s, but the Pendraken Zulus are finely proportioned, so wouldn't look right with 15s. Damn you and your good sculpting, Pendraken! |
Smokey Roan | 25 Mar 2010 8:30 a.m. PST |
How'd I miss their WWI in East Africa range? Those are so cool Must resist. Darkest Africa in 15mm is daunting enough, and I must finish 10mm Hlobane before any other 10mm pursuits.

No plans for any Tribesmen like that at the moment, we've already got a pile of stuff with various designers! The first five codes for the Samurai Apes were released on March 1st and are on our site, there's another 3 codes coming on April 1st. Keep an eye on the website for the latest news. We probably could put a blowpipe on an existing figure, but firstly, like someone said, it wouldn't look quite right without the oversized head, and secondly, it'd be another one of those little jobs we never seem to have time for! |
