Seems like they were quite prevalent in that part of Indonesia: link Maybe that's how they evaded Kong; they shrank. :) So, go grab some pygmy miniatures and some Green Stuff . . . link Dan TMP link TMP link |

From scratch?!? I dunno, Alex . . . You know I've only done conversions and the occasional non-humanoid creature. I've never done anything humanoid before. Dan |

I'd imagine two kinds, something like the Elfquest style or better yet, cannibal pygmy zombies like in Mummy Returns. |

28mmMan, Me and the buds tried the system and failed multiple times to survive even the introductory published adventure. Athas is a HARSH world. Darksunwiki info on "feral cannibalistic halflings" link From the wiki: "Dark Sun is a fresh departure from the mainstream fantasy settings. It is set in the desert world of Athas, which is reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic ancient Middle East, North Africa, Mesopotamia or Meso-America. Themes include: * Exotic and unusual playable races * Survival against the harsh elements * Despotism and slavery * Widespread psionic use * Extreme scarcity of water and metal * Destructive nature of magic In Athas, every use of magic has a cumulative destructive effect on nature, killing plants. Almost every PC & NPC are psionic. But if you enjoy the whole, "almost all weapons & armor made from stone, wood and bone because metal is far to scarce," thing, it may be up your alley. I loved the artwork

I ran a Dark Sun campaign once. One of my players rolled the longest streak of 00's on a D% I've ever seen. Rolled four of them in row, and then rolled two more in short succession. And it was all on the "Random Psionic Powers" chart. His starting character, a Thri-Keen warrior, started out with more psionic power points than the average 20th level psionist as well as over twelve major disciplines. The first published Dark Sun adventure I ran started with an encounter where a horde of over 400 undead are supposed to push the PCs towards a tomb or something (I forget, they never went near the place). Because no way do 3-5 3rd level characters face 400+ undead. Oh wait, thri-keen demigod killed them all in two rounds. Adventure over. That was pretty much the whole campaign. Even the killer cannibal halflings were powerless against an insect-man that bends time and space to his godlike will. |
