Hello All,

I have recently "rediscovered" Scruby Miniatures and have just finished some FPW French here:

Classic figures which are often overlooked.

Very nicely done. I've never owned Scruby miniatures. On your blog you that they are close to 1/72nd – if so, it's hard to tell by the photos and your great painting. They look like 25/28mm. Dean

Very nice painting! My recollection is that Scruby didn't have the fine detail sculpted on, things like gold braid on the cuffs wouldn't really be raised noticeably, as they are on many modern 25/28mm figures, and you just painted them on. I say "just," but it does take a firm hand.
I must give sme thought to doing the FPW with Scruby figures--looks like fun!

Matt has done a fantastic job of painting these Scruby figures!

The Frano-Prussian 25mm are some of Scruby's best 25mm work, if you like true 25s (1/72) you will not want to miss these…

Did I mention that we are starting to make new molds?

Well done.

The thing I remember about Scruby figures is that they defined shapes, but you painted the details on. Some of the Napoleonics figure did not seem to have crossbelts cast. I rather liked that. Doesn't fit my painting style now that my eyes are failing…

nice!

Very nice, last year I built up 1 (Fr) Corps, elements of the Imperial Guard, A couple of Prussian Corps, Saxons, Wurtenburg Div and a Bavarian Corps in 28mm. So far this year I have done III Prussian Army, the Guard Corps, 1 + 2 Divs of 1 (Fr) Corps in 6mm. Does this mean I also need to look at 1:72nd?!!!

Tally Ho!

Hello Matt. I cut my teeth painting Jack Scruby's 30 mm Napoleonics in the Late 60's. I thought they were wonderful castings if painted correctly and carefully. I still have a large French Napoleonic Army and I like them as much today as I did then. Thanks for sharing.
