Pictors Studio20 Mar 2010 6:08 p.m. PST

Very impressive. It makes me realize I need many more tents.

Hell, I need more of everything.

That is phenomenal! It could've made for an interesting game too, if the figures were based!

Give a really good impression of the thin red line and a whole bunch of Zulus.

I often wondered: what if the infantry had formed square: could they have held out?

Has anyone replayed the battle this way?

"I often wondered: what if the infantry had formed square: could they have held out?"

Depends on if you subscribe to the low on ammo theory for one.

Also I cannot see company squares holding out even with unlimited ammo, they would not be able to send out enough firepower.

If Pulleine had just formed battalion square, then possibly they could have caused so many casualties that the Zulus pulled back as Chelmsford arrived.

But really, who knows.

Fantastic work! It looks like its1/72!

Too many tents.

I estimate there are in excess of 242 tents on that diorama. At 12 men per tent (which is conservative) that is sufficient for 2900 men.

The British force at Isandhlwana was less than 1000.

For sheer spectacle, it's a wonderful diorama.
