Mr. Mannix is to be commended for his efforts..especially with the pen and paper.

Too bad HaT didn't put as much effort into the figures.

With the possible exception of the naval ratiings…I'm just not a fan.

Good efforts indeed.

I like the stylised painting job, a refreshing change form the norm that we see. The Hat figures are not too detailed but at least they have human proportions unlike many wargames figures that do not. Although I agree, the Colonial Indians are not Hat's finest. A quick look at their ancient Persians would show what they can do.

I'm not making a blanket statement about all of HaT's sculpts, but I wouldn't make one about all wargame figures either.

I've got 15mm Minifig, 28mm Perry, and HaT Camel Corps figures on the shelf in here…that HaT dismounted figure is the least human looking of them all. I've got some Ral Partha Boers nearby too and again HaT loses. We won't even discuss the RSM95 Colonials on the shelf above.

That dismounted figure has at least three elbows…and those mounted infantry…those are rough on the eyes. All of 'em have a wobbly look to them..not good. Too bad too 'cause they're cheap and easy to get.
