Had a friend email me this link to some pretty neat photos of Iwo Jima which concentrate on Air Corps activity there. Numerous pictures of p-51 and B-29 activity on the island, as well as some pretty good views of the landing beaches.

interesting pics pmwalt. One would think that the Iwo Jima runaway was extremely dangerous but I suppose that in regard of the number of missions flown accidents are bond to happen.

Terrific album. I was particularly impressed by the panoramic view that showed every inch of the island except Suribachi converted to a base. Incredible what the US could accomplish during WW II.

Very good photo spread. I didn't realize how many aircraft were lost on landing at Iwo. Looks like it was a common event.
