what do you use to attach the cast heads of these to the wire spear shafts? I've tried to use superglue but it just doesn't stick well. Any tricks I should be using to make these work better? Thanks. |

Drill them deeper and the superglue will work. |

I don't bother with the heads, they look funny to me anyway and they will sometimes with rough handling, break off even if you drill and use 2 part epoxy. I just use a Dremel with a grinding wheel and put a nice sharp point on the end. People will handle your figures with more care as well. I've drawn blood on many occasion. picture |

If you drill them out the super glue should work. I'm using the left over spears from Wargames Factory plastic boxes sets for most things these days though. |

I drilled the tip out more and used super glue. Worked just fine. |

I sent mine to Fernando to mess with. I don't have time to mess with stuff like that. I like the Foundry Greeks for ease of assembling forces, but I have to give Old Glory the nod for the better assortment. |

Don't bother. Just like wrgmr1 said, they look weird and WILL brake off anyway during transportation or playing. Just paint their tips silver or do as wrgmr1 said, grind tips to a point. It will look better and much less work than drilling holes, gluing tips and seeing them brake off. Rick James: expect your spears to come in 2 parts with separate tips and shafts already painted. |

I haven't experienced any issues with them looking weird or breaking off. I use a #61 bit (.039") and drill them out kind of deep. Super Glue has worked just fine for me. I set them by holding the spear shaft in lineman's pliers, using a bit of glue on the tip, then setting the spear tip on. If you only leave just enough of the shaft coming though the pliers, it's very easy to get it straight. |
