Our declaring that their home world was not even a planet was the last straw.

A proud, warlike race from Pluto with hard shells making them very tough indeed, the Plutonians have glowing red eyes to help them see in the near total darkness of that most distant of all planets. Their main weapon is the testi-gun, a living weapon that releases loogies of corrosive acid when the trigger is pulled.

However, the testigun was no match for Martian rayguns when those little green imperialists arrived in their saucers, rapidly conquering the dark planet using vastly superior technology. The Martians even proved able to defeat the dreaded warbeast of the Plutonians, the Munchers who eat everything they see, by releasing a gas which made the little gluttons very weight-conscious.

The fiendish Martians immediately set about mutating their new subjects into weird, mindless beasts with huge claws who obey every whim of the Martians if they were in close proximity. The Martians use these horrifying Plutoluna Mutants, as they call them, as shock troops and cannon fodder in their invasions of other planets.

But due to the great distance, Mars' grip on Pluto is tenuous, and the Plutonians have now overpowered their Martian overlords and taken over many of the local occupation saucers. Loading themselves aboard, and taking some of the mindless Plutoluna Mutants as well as hordes of Munchers, they set out to show the Earthlings who's a planet and who isn't. And after the Munchers made Earth barren of life, the Plutonians would settle there instead. After all, Mars hadn't invaded Earth -- yet ….

Will be released next week in the Planet 15 line. These have all sorts of uses, particularly the Plutoluna Mutants.

They are really nice…

MiniatureReview20 Mar 2010 8:13 a.m. PST

Love the claws. I think they will need some robots to help them fight the good fight.

28mmMan20 Mar 2010 8:15 a.m. PST

Those have some personality. Fun times.

khurasanminiatures20 Mar 2010 8:16 a.m. PST

Or the bad fight!

The Plutoluna Mutants have a pretty obvious inspiration. They have unmutated Plutonians to lend fire support for all-Pluto combat forces.

I have been trying to hold off until you had a lot of the new stuff out (cut the shipping costs and explanations to my wife about the little boxes), but my will power is starting to crack . . . . .

Mr. Khurasan, with all due respect, I cannot order further overwhelmingly cool products from you until 1) I finish painting all the stuff I just recieved from you via your GREAT customer service, 2) receive and finish the very cool stuff on its way to me from Zombiesmith, and 3) share my wealth with Rebel, Splintered Light, and GZG, all of whom have recently suffered from my shopping with you.

I want these guys. And some Savannah Lords, and some Wooly Rhinos, and some Hammerhead Space Demons, and…

khurasanminiatures20 Mar 2010 8:50 a.m. PST

I'm sorry, impala, but I make things the way gamers buy them! "I want some of those, ooooh, and some of those, and …". grin

If you look closely at the Plutonian Archon, you'll see that he has a little friend with him.

Demaratos20 Mar 2010 11:25 a.m. PST

Nice!

"testi-gun, a living weapon that releases loogies of corrosive acid when the trigger is pulled"

I reread the post without being distracted by pics (which made me think of Flash Gordon serials)…a testi-gun? hmmm is the joke that obvious or is it just me?

Do their share the planet Pluto with their allies the Vagi-ons with their pheromone control technology and Hoochie Koochie weapons?

In describing that weapon did you have a Freudian slip? Or is this a case of cigar being a cigar?

:(

Hrothgar Berserk20 Mar 2010 11:55 a.m. PST

I received a bonus at work this week and ordered a bunch of stuff from Khurasan yesterday, AFTER I gave half of the money to my wife(this is a sneaky ploy so that when the package arrives I have a defence already prepared:))

khurasanminiatures20 Mar 2010 12:01 p.m. PST

Hrothgar, that is a wise strategy indeed. grin

Eli Arndt20 Mar 2010 12:29 p.m. PST

I very much like those guys.

khurasanminiatures20 Mar 2010 12:46 p.m. PST

Thanks Eli.

The Mekanoid Grenadiers came in from Australia today, and my kids and I are in the kitchen, painting some of them. My nine year old daughter, perhaps predictably, painted them a lovely lime-and-pink shade. grin

Andrew Walters20 Mar 2010 1:01 p.m. PST

Cool.

I wonder what they'd look like in other colors.

I'm not doing SF 15mm yet. When I am…

Andrew

khurasanminiatures20 Mar 2010 1:24 p.m. PST

Another good colour might be bright red!

The painter thought they would look good in chaos colours like red and black.

Boromirandkermit21 Mar 2010 3:40 a.m. PST

Added to my to-buy list…

Steve Hazuka21 Mar 2010 7:10 a.m. PST

I say screw Pluto that Mickey Mouse planet is just goofy anyway!

clkeagle21 Mar 2010 7:29 a.m. PST

Hm… Black undercoat, heavy drybrush of a dark red, and a light drybrush of an orange-red color… Might have to try that with some of these. Could be their distant cousins from Io. :)

Jojojimmyjohn21 Mar 2010 8:36 a.m. PST

Now all we need is a band of stalwart spacemen armed with rocket pistols to protect us from the Plutonion menace. Excellent models!!

War Monkey21 Mar 2010 11:59 a.m. PST

I like them very much, are heavy weapons units coming any time soon, I like their craby attitude! LOL

Dances With Words Fezian21 Mar 2010 12:28 p.m. PST

I say send them to the next "I.A.U." (International Astronomy Union) meeting…FIRST…they're the chaps who pulled the 'switcheroo'….(and the details are BLUE-FEZZISH!!!! but just as worthy as almost ANY Washington political coverups!!!)…

let them run amuck there, first!

I'm all for Ceres, Pluto and other 'dwarf' planets being called PLANETS….vs dwarf planet, KBO's…OBO's, Trans-Neptunion Objects…(has NOTHING to do with Rocky Horror Picture Show by the way)….

Actually Pluto should qualify as a 'double-planetary' system WITH 'moons'…as Charon…it't 'largest moon' and it, share more of a 'baracenter' than the Earth and Moon do!…but THAT's another story….

What's nice about Khurasan's minis…is even at 15mm, they STILL work with 28's…etc…(or really, REALLY good with 6mm?? Kaiju?)…as I've used their 'Lime goo' figs and other Planet 15 stuff with 28mm…

I mean, look at the 'grey' aliens and how they range in size and 'scale'…???

I can't wait to see all the stuff Khurasan continues to come out with…(and CHEERS to doing it YOUR way, as you see it! I LOVE what you're doing…and have ordered/will be ordering more stuff as paydays come and go…mostly go! *sigh)

Slishfully,
Sgt DWW-btod

Brutorz Bill23 Mar 2010 7:34 a.m. PST

These look great, and here I just placed an order last week for some more Felids and some of those cool looking Clambake minis, now you've gone and released more cool stuff! AARGH! ; )

Ooooh, I like…

khurasanminiatures23 Mar 2010 11:24 a.m. PST

The Martian warships that the Plutonians have saucer-jacked have just been spotted, albeit wobbling a bit, in orbit around the Earth!!!

Models are available now, in three packs.

I dont like Mutants, as i dont like dumb monsters and close combat in gun high setting (i havent tried pulp yet).

But standard Plutonians with rifles are great, pity they are only in 2 or 3 poses ..

khurasanminiatures23 Mar 2010 4:54 p.m. PST

I think the chewks are actually a bit like Zoidberg. They have little claws, and tentacly things hanging down from their heads. But because they are like tiny crustacean bedouin, the Chewks may be muslim instead of Jewish. wink

Funny, the sculptor of the chewks at one point said, "I want to change this about the head, makes them look a bit like zoidberg." Futurama is everywhere!

Brutorz Bill24 Mar 2010 6:34 a.m. PST

Any updates on the Chewks release date? I'm gonna be placing another order soon (you just keep turning out awesome stuff!), I just want to make the most (or should I say least) of the shipping charges.

I had missed that post. Sorry to hear about that.

khurasanminiatures24 Mar 2010 11:49 a.m. PST

All part of this business I'm afraid, Bill. Many of the sculptors (though by no means all) are in the UK.
