My copy of Wargames Illustrated 270 arrived this morning.

I've been on a bit of a roll lately as this issue has a Viking focus and the last two have been on Market Garden and the ECW – three strong interests of mine.

Only skimmed so far – key points for me:

1. There will be a Market Garden themed Firestorm campaign game for FoW – Goody, I'd been hoping for one but haven't been keeping up with that game online recently. The 'Frost's Perimeter' table from last issue will be at Salute! I shall be very jealous of those who get to use it.

2. Back cover advert is for Gripping Beast [hello boys] announcing amongst other things a box of plastic Hirdmen! I'd missed GB getting into plastics completely.

3. Perry advert lists more 1815 Brits and also French Hussars.

4. Non-Viking articles include: Covenanters, MG campaign, Elizabethan gaming, Finn train raids, Etruscans and Darkest Africa.

5. Next month is Anzio.

Victrix advert has 3 ups of plastic British artillery crews-sets to contain 3 guns with 6 and 9lbr and 5.5" howitzer barrels and 3 limbers. Sets like this will transform 28mm battlefields with loads of cheap limbers. The only confusing thing is only 15 crew listed which doesn't seem many to man 3 guns and 3 limbers. Listed as coming soon!

Like the sound of the Victrix pack.

15 is enough isn't it? 5 per gun? I bet the limbers will be just that.

Are the Victrix stovepipe or belgic? I didn't see them on theur webpage anywhere.

Both types of headgear.

Excellent!

Cool – by the second response the thread veered completely away from a magazine to a set of figures.
I love TMP

Got my copy today in WH Smiths, another excellent issue.

This will force me to "dust off" my Gripping Beast Vikings and get them into action again.

Can't wait for Firestorm Market Garden, looks damn good.
